I had a raptor 50 about 3 or 4 years ago, got out of the hobby and am now back in. Picked up a Trex 450 SE V2 and love it but like most of you one isn't enough.
Have the Raptors changed much? I always hated that plastic canopy that you can't paint, (speaking for myself LOL). I see they have a new titanium version out, is it worth it or is there something better out there. One thing I do want is all aluminum, no more plastic. The V2 spoiled me and there's no going back now.

The Titan is out in the 50 sized but I would suggest you just buy a Quick UK head for you V2

Welcome back. I have had a love/hate relationship with helis ever since I saw Schluter fly his demos at the Doylestown WC in 1971. I have tried to quit several times, but now realize that I'm addicted.
To answer your questions: No, the Raptors have not changed much. They are still reliable machines, but the fuselage is still nylon reinforced plastic and they still have the bleach bottle canopies.
The plastic fuse is still tough and works well. I wouldn't let that stop you from buying one. You can also purchase fiberglass canopies to replace the stock bleach bottles. The Raptor 50 Titan is a very nice machine and mine flies very well. (There is no actual titanium on the machine. It has titanium anodized skids and tail boom.) The tail boom has been stretched a tad so you can now run up to 620mm blades. Couple this with an OS Hyper 50 and you're looking at something close to an older 60-powered machine.
I agree with DD, the Quick UK stuff is very good. All three of my Raptors have lots of QUK upgrades and they are great.
Take care,
Ron

I remember there was a carbon fiber frame for the 50 just comming out when I had mine. Do they still make that or was it a pile of junk?
I'm liking the Quick stuff, a little spendy but very nice. :smokin:

The joy of Raptor owning is they are cheap to fix. I've hit the dirt quite a few times and only busted one frame, actually a half, I still have the other half in a drawer.

The titan is a great heli , if you dont want plastic head there are lots of good ones out there, even better than the quick uk, but you wont need it to get you back in the air..
good luck
