Is this okay? (antenna)

I have the JR R610M receiver and the antenna is really long relative to the zoom's size. So I was wondering if it's okay to do this with my antenna?

The idea is not mine (nor are the pictures). They are taken from here (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2687246&postcount=8). I'm using a straw to wrap the antenna around on.

Will doing this reduce the range or cause glitches?

Yup, that'll work fine as long as the antenna doesn't overlap anywhere. I've done the exact same thing with excellent results!

How about running it through the skids? Will that reduce the range?

As long as you try to keep it away from any carbon fiber, it'll be fine.
