I went to hook up the red coil wires together and found them too short to plug in. So last night I soldered a 2" extension & new plug end to make it work... Any one else have this problem?
Also, I have a black wire coming out of the lower coil that the manual says can be connected to a kill switch. When I ran the Vario version of this motor, it had a yellow kill switch mounted in the plastic shroud.. Anyone planning on hooking one of these up and if not, is the wire/plug left to dangle?

Unfortunately the red coil wire is too short on many Zenoah motors. It's funny they provide such short wires (BTW- most high tension leads are too short as well) that the secondary coil cannot be reached with it in Zenoahs stock coil location (on the side as it is on the Spectra-G). I had to extend the red wire on all of my G-231 motors to get the coil mounted on the motor. If using the Miniature relocation kit (comes with relocation parts and high tension shield, ground, etc), the short wire won't be a problem.
You can do just as you have done to extend it.
You can let the black kill wire dangle (it has an insulator on it), tie it up where it doesn't flap around or plug the Stator Gator pick-up into it (which I do).

Hi Guys...
I've moved my coil down onto the bottom plate...just happends to be two holes under the carb with the correct spacing to mount it (rear facing motor), this solved the short wire problem, just had to make up a ground wire and a couple of standoffs. One other thing I don't like is the plug wire is very hard, does anyone know if it can be removed and a good silicone one be put back into the HT Coil...? I think i would like to get a better plug boot as well!
Almost ready to fly :) Cheers All

The wire cannot be removed from the coil, DONT try it! The coil is assembled internally and the wire hard soldered on them and then the whole thing is molded over it. I wanted to do the same thing a few back and quickly found otherwise!

I had a feeling that was the case, curiosity was killing me so I thought I would ask...
Thanks John
