Hi,

I'm slowly increasing the values for elevator and aileron on my TX.
I almost crashed yesterday because i had not enough aileron... :arggg:
I start to fly a little faster and more agile now and wanted to make a fast turn, caught some wind and barely could make the turn.
just pulled it straight a couple of Cm's from the ground , Very spectacular but would like a little more response now :)

I increased it now so the swash just reaches the line of the bearing when fully tilted, 50% setting in my Futaba swash-menu.
What kind of swash angles do you guys use (aileron and elevator) for sport/3d on the MT?

Thanks
Eric

Hello EricW,
I have my aileron and elevator set as far as I can with out binding. Pretty close to 100%. I usually do not bang the stick to the corners as I"m trying to smooth the moves i can do. With some quick stick mid range movement, I don't think I will strain (bind) the servo's. Setting it up like this give me the feel I like.

Thanks Lzfalcon,

I'll do the same.
After my last flight with the increased settings it wasn't nervous around mid-stick, the more i can get out of it the better.
I wasn't really sure what's possible/Normal. Thanks for the response.

OK I had my swash mix @ 80% at first on my MT. Good roll rate.
Then I made some adjustments to my head and watched the finless ccpm vids for the rex450. The finless' trex ccpm setup vid says that the swash angle should not be over 8 degrees or the blades could stall at full pitch full cyclic. I then freaked out and dialed mine down to that level and now the cyclic is very doggish. :(

Is this 8 degree swash angle limit a trex thing only. Before I was closer to 20 degrees. I want to set it back where it was but do not want to make some rookie mistake that is going to make my heli stall and crash. The mechanix of my setup allow 30degree throw without any binding.... What is the max degree of thow one should run on this Mini Titan????

Hi Noguy,

I actually tuned down the swash setting to 60% now.
Had it at 80% but I was not ready for it, the heli is btw ;)
I'm still not doing rolls or flips so it's agile enough for my liking.
I think you have to search for the setting/roll-rate you like, and to know where it stalls has to be answered by guys who have experience with searching for this aerodynamic limit of the MT.
Wish i could answer that question :)
I haven't read any threads about crashed MT's because of the stalling paddles.
I have read threads on RR though about experiments with lighter/different paddles to increase stability and roll-rate.

OK I further proved my noobness. when I adjusted the swash angle I was measuring the angle of the swash vs the frame. WRONG. I dont know if i totally missed something in bob's vid or if it just wasn't very clear, but the 8 degrees angleis the pitch of the main blade @ zero pitch collectively when full cyclic is input. I checked mine out and this setting was about 75 on the swash mix. So I am now better educated once againan the heli is rolling like a champ again.
