Hi

has anyone ever figured out what the dip switches on the CX2 TX are for? The manual says that they must always be in the same position. Maybe I should just believe it.....I'm just wondering.

Thanks

The first ones are reserved (so haven't tried them) while the last 5 (if I remember the number correctly) are servo reversing switches. I have used this same Tx with a AR6100 Rx and it works fine. Just a basic Tx/Rx combination though.

Thank you, ArthurKnowles.

Since the CX2 doesn't seem to be ready (and me neither) for 3D I'll maybe better keep my fingers off the dip switches at first.

I'm still happy after each landing without breaking the heli. I make it more often, even with some wind outside.

Ground effect seems to be challenging while trying to do some precise spot landing and also my own heli's vortex ring which I'm flying into when trying to land. I'm still learning which is probably all the fun about it.

Can you give me any advice concerning spot landings?

Thank you for your help.

Mike

If you are flying outside, you probably need to use the outer hole in the servo arm for increased throw. That will provide more control authority. Indoors, the inner hole (stock setting) works fine.

I also spent some time adjusting my linkage so I did not need any trim to hover. Aside form rudder that is. No matter how you adjust the trim for rudder there will always be some adjustment needed as the battery runs down. I adjust mine for a hands off hover with a 2/3 charged battery for best effect.

I've been adding some aluminium parts to the heli (upper and lower rotorhead) The most time I have my rudder trim almost entirely turned to the right. There must also be a way to balance the two motor's thrust. As far as I know I can adjust it on the 4 in 1 one unit. Thats what I'm going to try next.

I also took the outer hole of the servo arms. Are you also talking about the "next" hole after the one where it was in the beginning?

Today the weather here was almost perfect to fly. Only a very light, steady breeze. I could even spot-land the heli.

Thanks

I adjusted my rudder gain (on the 4in1) early on, but I noticed that there is no perfect setting for it. A fresh battery (high voltage) requires one setting and a low charge a different one. That's why I adjusted the 4in1 with a 2/3 charged battery. That way it hovers with a bit of left (I think - could be reversed) stick with a fresh charge and a bit or right stick at low charged battery.

No, if you are using the outer hole alreay (one furtherst from the center) then you are already maxed out and preped for outdoor flying.
