I have some Spektrum DS821 Sport Digital Servos which I am thinking about using with my Raptor 50 SE that I am building and will be going into my Funkey Hughes 500E.

I will only be flying scale type maneuvers with this setup (no 3D), so does anyone see any problems with using them.

I will be running them at 6v

The specs are;

Torque: 72 oz/in @ 4.8v, 88 oz/in @ 6.0v
Speed: .19 sec/60deg @ 4.8v, .15 sec/60 deg @ 6.0v

Thanks

David

Hi David,

I've got the same servos and they are working in my Comeback gas mechanic. The only place, where I need a stronger servo (Futaba 9206) was pitch....

A friend had one of these fail on the elevator on his Raptor 50... caused a $200 crash. And that was pod/boom...

With the amount of work that goes in to a scaler (I just finished a TT MD500), I wouldn't even consider putting it up with less than the best servos...the difference up front is far less than the cost of even one crash...

By the way which servos would you recommend for scale flying?

Thanks

The standard for 50 sized helis seems to be the Futaba 9252. I've got DS8311s in mine.
