I'm hoping to learn to do autorotations. I've done a few "unexpectedly" but I want to learn them for real. I have a caliber 30, caliber 5, concept 60-sr2, and a caliber 90. I'm guessing the 30 is too small, and I'm afraid to fly the 90 because of scarcity of parts. Would the cal 5 or concept 60 be best? Should I put some old wood blades on incase of a boom strike?
Any tips for doing autos?

I'd use the 50 personally.

Thanks for the response!
When you auto with a 50, does it seem to have as large of a "safety margin" as a 60? What I mean is, can you get enough energy stored in the blades so that an imperfect auto has a chance of not causing damage?

I've never autoed a 60, just 30, 50 and 90's. The 50s have good energy but they arent a 90. Alot depends on blades and technique. Honestly with the parts availability of a Concept 60 I wouldnt even fly it let alone practice autos :)

The caliber5 autos really nice, with radix600 on there, stores alot of energy as one user put it, honestly I enjoyed the caliber30 auto's they really get your heart pumping, the flying bring I call it, but when you transition to a caliber5 and do the auto's feels like something floating down gently. Get your autos spot on in the sim, spot land them and you will enjoy everybit of it.
