This is my first video of some soft 3d the Swift is very fun to fly even on 4s. I had to chop the video size to make it fit here.
let me know what you think!

Very nice - man that combo cost a lot less then my T-Rex 450SE did.
Proof positive that the stock Swift can do very well on a relative inexpensive 4 cell power system.

Yea it was alot less money than my Trex 600, but it does bog down if you hamer the colective way more than my 600. That being said it is very fun to jam around and I see why they call it he swift, it is fast in forward flight. I can't wait tell my NHP carbons get here!! All in all I have about the same amount of money in this as I did the trex450 and it is alot better imo than the 450.

Hi nice video ,please can you tell me some details of your set up ,
what motor are you using ,what size pinion, which battery pack.
I am flying my swift on a century 3dx motor 9 tooth pinion flightpower 3700 4s1p battery and its performance and duration is not up to yours in the video.

I am useing the Century 600+ motor 12t pinion thp 4s1p 3850 the head speed is at 1850 the max I would go with wood blades! The coolest part is the fact that I found a use for the digital servos that came with my DX7 radio!!

Very nice! I was considering a Medusa Motor(my HDX-450 has a 3400kv and I love it in that) but I am leaning more and more to the 600+ to replace my Century 550. Very inspirational to us 4S guys.

You know, I keep coming back and watching this video, and I think this has convinced me to save a ton of money on packs (and a new charger) and just try my Swift on 4S! I was originally thinking I'd go 6S from the beginning, but with a new charger and the price of the packs..... Ouch.
Sure does seem to fly well on 4S!

Chris.... realize on 6S the flight time will be 6 minutes easy maybe more with this kind of flying. I get 6 solid 3D minutes on 6S 3700 packs.
Spend the money now IMHO.

Bob, how different is the flight time on 4S? I'm not really trying to cheap out on the Swift, but I'm having a difficult time justifying another charger ($110 minimum, for an Astro 109) and the extra $75 each (minimum) for the 6S packs.
Example prices:
MaxAmps 4S 5000: $175
FP 6S 3700: $250
TP 6S 3850: $260
I'm also fairly certain I will be building an Approach Engineering Cobra body for the Swift, so I'm not sure if 6S would be better for scale flight vs 4S?

You know, Bob... after more consideration... You are exactly right. I know myself. Heck, I put a hot new motor in my T-Rex, and the first few flights had me saying "whoa, this is HOT!". Then after a few more flights, I was saying "maybe I should put smaller blades on this and add a tooth to the pinion."
In other words, I bet I'd get bored with 4S pretty quick. Heh.

Well 4S can fly hot and i have seen it BUT flight time is like 3 minutes!
So you wont be bored but I like to get a minimum of 4 minutes and preferably 5.
If your going to put a scale body on and not do 3D then the added weight will shorten flight time. 4S will still probably only get ya 3-4 minutes unless you really lower head speed and such.
It's all what you want and a scale bird should be set up for longer flight time in my opinion.

My swift has lots of power on a $110 pack. 10s A123 :)

My swift has lots of power on a $110 pack. 10s A123 :)You know, I haven't totally bypassed that idea either. Can you give me the details of your power system? I know I'd need a different ESC, but since the box is unopened I might be able to return mine or sell it for near what I paid (Align 75).

My setup is:
10s A123
1910/1.5Y
CC85HV
11T pinion
rototech 550
The one issue I'm having with this setup is the govenor isn't working quite right. With this pinion I need to run around 75% to get 2200 rpm(In fixed endpoints heli mode) The prob is I have to go into gov high and set the throttle curve for a flat 35 curve to get that rpm. The govenor doesn't like that it seems. I'm getting slight pulses in the throttle although its still flyable. I've got a 10T pinion on order and I'm hoping to solve the problem.
Now.. at 2350 rpm which is pretty fast I know.. The govenor is happy and seems to preform just fine. The heli flies good and I'm getting 5-6 minutes of flight and the motor runs cooler. I don't really want to run the headspeed this high though so I'm thinking the 10T will get me fixed. If not I might try diff firmware and playing with the gain on the gov. I might just bag using the CC govenor and going with a multigov.
Anyways since I've had it running for the last week its flown great at 2350 rpm :) I'm not too scared anymore and its a rocket! lol Oh and chargin in a half hour is really nice I have to say. I jsut wish that expensive 1010 charger would do more than 5 amps on 10s!

Could you post some pics of your battery configuration?
Also I was wondering if that battery effects the rolls much?

I'm running the same battery configuration, but instead of mounting the pack between the gear legs, my 10S A123 pack is mounted vertically just in front of the motor. This places the weight higher than stock and the CG is perfect. :)
I'm running a Neu 1910/1.5Y on a 9T at 90% to get about 1850 rpm (stock plastic head and woodies). Flies great, and I get 7.5 - 8 minutes of sport flying.
