Hi all, I just finished building my Logo 10 and I have the above mentioned ESC in it, but what settings should I use?
Here is the link to the manual:
http://www.castlecreations.com/support/documents/Phoenix_User_Guide.pdf
I am using a Hacker A30-8XL motor.
Thanks for any help,
theLane

Here's how I would set it up. I'm not sure how the governor is on it so that can go either way.
Setting 1 - 1
Setting 2 - 4
Setting 3 - 5
Setting 4 - 4
Setting 5 - 3
Setting 6 - 2
Setting 7 - 1
Setting 8 - 1

Thank you Motions for your suggestions.

While this if for the HV85 you should try setting up for gov and really getting the most form the ESC.
See this vid I just did:

That's awesome Finless.. thanx! I went and bought a link cable today and then followed the instructions up to where I need to take it out to the field and tach it. I have to stop there, as I do not have a tach yet. Thanks Finless, as usual, you videos are very helpful.

Let me know how it goes...

Hmm...
Maiden flight of the Logo 10 today was very dissapointing. First flight, the heli wouldn't lift off more than 3 inches. Checked the pitch and reset the pitch curve to -3/+7 and she hovered very nice and smooth, but no power at all. Was only able to hover around for about 3-4 minutes. If I had a wonky situation, I would not have the power to get out of it at all.
I'll have to find a meter and check it because it's a 12 cell NiHM pack made up of 4000 mah 1.2v cells. It should be giving me 8-10 minutes of hovering for sure. Headspeed was about 1500-1600 RPM.
From what I can tell, the Logo is a very stable and predictable machine. It goes where you want when you want and it's allmost silent. Tail authority is excellent. Anyway, this was the day at the field.
Currently, my thottle curve just goes from 0-100 across all points. I am using a Hacker A30-8XL w/cc60, 23T pinion and stock wood blades. I am still not in gov mode as per Finless videos. I followed the instructions all the way up to where you take it out to the field for the first spool-up and tach it, except, rather than tach it right away, I was hovering it.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Lane

Sounds like a bigger pinion for sure is needed. The Logo 10 really likes to be over 1900 rpm at lowest to have performance. Most run idel 1 and idle 2 over 2100rpm for certain for performance.

OK, but remember I have stock wood blades and am using a 23T pinion already ??

Oh ya, my cutoff was set to 9v. Would this be why I was getting only 4-5 minutes?

OK, figured out what is going on with this thing... first, the battery pack is fine. What's happening is, I have -3/+10 pitch setup and my throttle curve goes from 0-100, pitch curve was basically the same (maybe 20-100).
Now, I hook the battery up, start spooling it up and at about 1/2 throttle, I am already at +5 pitch, but the motor was only spinning up to about 900 RPM, soon I am at 3/4 throttle and now the pitch is +8 and the motor is working overtime against the pitch. There just isn't enough power there for the motor to spin the blades up to 1800 RPM when the pitch is already at +8 or +10.
I set the pitch curve to zero (flat-line) at 50% stick, spooled it up and at 1/2 throttle, I was at around 1200 RPM. Achieving 1800-2000 is easy now.
The second mistake I made was splitting the pack in two 6-cell packs when I could have just run a charge lead off each side of the pack. Anyway, I built a Y harness, but did it wrong. I was only getting 8v. Now the harness is right and the pack is delivering 16v. This was NOT the initial problem because initially the pack was as one 12-cell pack.
The MAIN issue was the pitch curve and throttle curve. Not sure what the lesson here is. I assumed the battery and motor COULD spin it up to 2000 RPM even if the pitch started at +11, but apparently not. It was working very hard right off the bat and it only got harder as the stick went up and the pitch increased. A friend told me (who helped me figure this out), those brushless motors like to wind out first before you put a load on them otherwise they have no power.
Now I will figure out where on the stick 1800 RPM is and then setup the throttle curve and then the pitch curve, etc.
Anyway, just thought I would post this for any other new person that might experience the same thing.
