Just noticed that no'one has really said much about the Maxum gasser here.
I bought one, almost ready to go now, but cash flow has stopped, so first flight is a little way off.
Just thought Id share some pics and features of my bird.
Rotor head, all CNC, adjustable bell and hiller mixing.
10mm solid main shaft.
Chassis stacked G10 with aluminium cross braces.
All hex screws are stainless steel.
Spiral wrapped carbon boom
G10 finset
CNC tail gearbox
Plastic tail blade grips
4mm flybar

Helical drive gears
Idler bearing on main gear
Fiberglass canopy
Made in the Phillipines
I have yet to find a flaw in the entire machine, and considering the price, I went over it with a fine tooth comb lol.
It comes ARF.
Chassis is assembled, boom/torque tube/tail assy is done as well.
Head is complete minus flybar arm and flybar.
I had the basic heli together in under an hour, got fussy with the flybar levers lol.
All ball links are a bit tight, usually I would not leave them like that, but I will see how she feels, and check them after a few flights to see if they free up a bit.
Im using Futaba 9255's, analogue Hitec for throttle, GY611 and 9252.
Stator Gator. Going to get a GV1.
Ive got a Hanson G26 3D Max.
Bought the Realheli muffler as well. Very well made, doesnt look hot in pics, but the satin finish looks very nice in person. Cost $120US, so good price as well.
Curtis Youngblood 710's, same brand tails, and 4mm Stubz paddles.
I'll be interested to see how these paddles shift a gasser around, considering that they were for a 3d'in 90.
Downsides....its expensive (quality costs regardless of what it is), and you can only purchase via bank wire transfer, so that takes time.
In my case, from deposit to time of delivery was 2 weeks.
Not drastic, but a bit of a pain anyway.
This also means that if you buy one of these, you should stock up on spares. Nothin worse than waiting for parts after you crash.
Spares costs are very good. I was suprised actually.
The most expensive bits are the boom and the canopy.
All the fuel tank plumbing is done for you, has brass nipples as std.
I still have to get a Duralite setup, the GV1, and a DX7.
No way am I flying a 4K heli with a regular TX. Just dont trust em that much lol.
If anyone wants any specific pics, then feel free to ask away, as Im more than happy to take them if I havent already got them.
On to the pics, and we'll see how competent I am at getting that to work
One more thing......its bigger than I thought it would be, and only just fits in the back of my car. Have to remove the canopy. Just something I didnt think would be a prob lol.
