Ok I have the MX 400 with the CCPM Upgrade When i Spin up the Heli i can see that the blade with the BLUE Tape is the High Blade (I am Holding this in My Hand) as i increase throttle the Blue blade Becomese the LOW Blade.

Now the Next time i did this(Without adjusting Anything) the Orange Taped Blade was the High Blade and as i went through the throttle range they Also Switched. WHat the Heck is going on? Nothing seems to be loose or Bent..??!!

I Just don`t get it....I know that Holding the Heli in your Hand is not a good Idea....but i did it. Cause i cannot see which Blade is High and whichj is Low when Hovering. I Don`t think i will do it agian though....not with things like this happening.

I'd go with Futura, sounds like a bent feathering shaft

Hey,

You make no mention of what blades you are flying, I know from setting up a friends Trex that certain Align blades go in & out of track very easily.
This normally applys to the plasticy yellow ones if I remember correct, but can effect others in the range to.

Have you tried another set of blades, carbon ones for instance?

Hey,

Ah cancels that theory out then.

Do you get the same problems with another set of blades or just this night set?

Another thing to look at is paddle alignment, if your paddles are out to one another in the past I have seen tracking problems as a result.

Hmm I have not tried other Blades as of yet. I have not seen the blades "Switch" latley and i am getting them closer and closer in Tracking...but I am now wondering if i have a bent feathering Shaft. Reason I say this is Because when i looked at it while it was spinning i could see the Blade Grips moving up and down ever so slightly...but this could have been because the blades were out of track. With the MX400 i cannot justput a hex wrench on one side and spin the Spindle as these have the "Nut" on the end instead :arggg:

On commanded rotor arc is usually an indication of something loose in the head. I saw it on Belt CP. Tightend up everything and she tracked tru the rotor arc was stable at all throttle setting. Grab the paddle and gently try and twist them. If they move fairly easy and the linkages move, that is slop that must be taken out for it hover stable and track true. Make sure your swash is completely flat with your flybar as well. Try a pitch gauge. Has it ever been in a crash? If so it could definately be a bent feathering shaft. Three things you take out of the helicopter after a crash to check for trueness. Main shaft, tail shaft and feathering shaft. Yes, even the inertia of a sudden stoppage can bend the tail shaft even if it hasn't hit anything. :? Seen it happen.

HMMM

Here is someting i have been wondering about for quite some time. It is the Two Arms that connect at the flybar(One on either side) these have slop. it is like the screw that holds them in Place is not tight enough. I was wondering about itawhile ago but i took it in to a Hobby shopand paid 150 bucks for a "Heli Tech" To get it flying. At that time i told them to replace anything that needed replacing. These were not replaced so i figured that they were "OK"....I Gather that they are Not "OK" I have had this for over 8 Months and all I have done is put money into it :arggg: This is a MX400 but from all the upgrades i have done it is more like a 400 PRO. In Fact If i were to swap out the head and Mainshaft for a T-Rex i would Have a T-Rex In Fact i am so fed up that this is what i am going to do. Can Someone give mesuggestions on what to Purchase so i do not have to do any Customizing? AFter all the work and learning curve i have done there is no way i can give up now.....even if i wanted to :!:

The X400 feathering spindles bend if you so much as look at them crossly. You can take the blade off of one side and put a 5.5mm socket or nut driver on the spindle nut and spin it to check for a bent shaft. It's really no different than any other except that you use a different tool. You can always take it out too.

Shafts are cheap (like 3 bucks for two) and microheli offers a stronger shaft for about 7 bucks, but I managed to bend one of those too in a crash.

I've got an MX 450 with all the aluminum bling in the head and it's got so much slop in it that it's almost impossible to track properly. There's about 3/4 inch separation on mine that I've been trying to get out and I've just recently torn down the head and re-built it.

If your links and alignment look good, and your spindle is not bent, it's likely just slop.

Thanks Jeffk

I got so fustrated with this thing that I ended up putting it in the closet for awhile..Might be time to pull it back out.
