Hi,

Does anyone know any on-line stores that have the TRM G231 Modified Engine in stock? I already called Rick's and they said that they will not be carrying them. I also called Heliproz and they are out of them.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

I am suprised they are not carrying TRM Motors at Rick's. :?:

Try to call or email MA directly. I know they are selling a lot of the TRM 231's and Toxic Al is modding a lot of motors. I think he was doing a batch of 16 last time I talked to him a few days ago.

Could someone please tell me if the TRM modified G231 comes standard with the model carby that has the choke on the outside so that after market air cleaners can be fitted such as the K&S that MA display on their Spectr-G

The Toxic TRM G-231 should be supplied with a WT-643 carb. This carb has a primer bulb and the choke plate is in the air breather box. Without the stock air box you won't have a choke but a choke is not neccessary at all. In most model applications the choke plate gets removed from the WT-644 and the hole filled with a plug or JB Weld anyway. If you top start the model it is even easier to start without a choke. I prefer the WT-643 myself.

Thanks for the reply John, I have also just started watching your 2 part build video and it is very helpful and informative especially for a first time gasser such as myself.

So what is needed to mount a K&N filter? I see on the Zenoah manual on some of their engines that a plate with a short pipe is mounted on the carb. What is that? I am assuming that is like a velocity stack or something? Is that where you mount the K&N Filter? Thanks.

That plate/short pipe you see is an adapter that the goped guys are using to put the K&N air filter on the Walbro carb. You can go to the goped web-sites to find the complete set-up. It's heavy though.

I use the Zenoah velocity stack that Horizon sells and is a Zenoah part # for the G-23/231/26. It sells for around $6-$8, don't remember quite what it was. You can see one in my gallery.
Not sure which of the stacks that are supplied with the "kit" to install the K&N filter for the gopeds to use. See if you can find one for Walbro 603, 643, 644, 645 or designations for the G-23/231/26 motors.

This one will work too:

If you're willing to wait a couple of months, MA will introduce a custom made air filter which will be much lighter than the goped type air filters.

I will pull out my pocket bike that has a 4myscooter.com stack and K&N filter on it tomorrow and see what the number on the walbro carb is. I can also use my calipers and get the spacing on the bolts to see if it would fit one of my 645 on my Spectra.

I'll get back ASAP in the AM and let you know.
