Hello
I am thinking about building a basic Raptor 90. I do not need anything fancy, will not be doing any 3D (I have a Trex 600 for that), and just need a basic flying model.
I am trying to keep the cost down, so do not want to spend money on parts I will not use to their full potential. As such I have put together a list of what may make up a basic Raptor 90. Could you let me know if this would be OK for a basic flying model. If I get into nitro flying I can then start upgrading various bits.
I have a number of parts from a Trex 600, including the Align external BEC. This takes the 7.4 v input down to 5.8V. I also have the 5.8V to 5.1V converter for the tail servo. The BEC includes an on/off switch. I was hoping to use this on the Raptor, any problems with this. I also have a Thunder Power7.4V, 1400 mAh receiver lipo, which I was also going to use.
Finally I have 3 nearly new Futaba S3001 servos off my Trex, could I use these on the Raptor or should I stick with the 9252.
Kit Raptor 90 Standard Kit – TT4890
Engine Thunder Tiger Pro 90H
Cyclic Servos Futaba 9252
Throttle Servo Futaba 9252
Gyro Futaba GY401
Gyro Servo Futaba S9254
Exhaust/Muffler Thunder Tiger PV0209
Main Blades 710 mm Thunder Tiger Glass/Carbon
Receiver Futaba R168DP
Crystal Dual Channel (85)
Transmitter Futaba F7CP
Remote Glow Plug Extension
1.5 V Glow Starter
6 mm Hex Extended Starter
Any advice gratefully received.
