Shot this early in the morning Monday at our family's cottage on Grand Traverse Bay (Lake Michigan).

Sony HC3: Had the manual focus set wrong, was not adjusted out to "landscape".

Using a Tokina .5x wide angle lens that shows up in the corners if you forget to zoom in a touch :arggg:

Image stabilization was on. Auto exposure on.

Low res. 15mb file, still learning Sony Vegas and what setting's for rendering etc.. :dontknow

Besides that hope you enjoy and all feedback/help wanted. :glasses2:

Please overlook the O.I.W. (operator induced wobbles-coined by Scotty D.)

Looks like a great place to fly!

Drink a cup of coffee on the deck, loosen up the thumbs, fly over some glassy water.

All you need is a canoe paddling by.

Only problem with a canoe (there is one on the beach) is that 10mins after shooting this video the wind came up and you would wish you had a kayak. :D

Northern Michigan in the summer is the only reason I put up with the lousy weather during the winter.

I rode my bike around Lake Superior years ago, and had a great time in the UP. Beautiful place.

I've been to Splitrock Lighthouse on Superior. That was cool. Huge lake. Looks just like the ocean.

nice.

that wobble/oscillation I see looks almost exactly like the wobble I got when I tried a Canon HV10 with the wide converter and OIS turned on.

The Stab software on the HV10 didn't seem to like it when I used the wide converter (a Canon .7x)

Try running no wide converter with Stab turned on and see what happens. Then also try with the wide converter but turn off the Stab/OIS.

If you watch the vignette caused by the converter you can see the apparent movement that Stab is "removing" but you can also see it tends to move in tune with the wobble.... just like that HV10 I had (and got rid of)

Canon Stab/OIS sucks, Sony is so-so, Panasonic is the best I have seen.

I have tried it with and without the wide converter with the same results. I will try without OIS next.

Thanks for the reply..... :noteworthy :noteworthy

Yeah try turning off your OIW too!

Throw some expo and some lower rates in there.
