Hello,

I have always wanted a T-Rex 450SE V2. Just today, I got offered a deal... I'm not sure if it's a good deal, but my "want" for the item is screaming "YES YES GO FOR IT" and my wallet is saying, "THINK THINK DON'T BE HASTY." SO! I would like to hear opinions from people with wider knowledge of the RC helicopter world.(I'm fairly new)

Here's the combo offer:
T-Rex 450SE new V2 kit (the standard kit with motor, esc, and battery)
1x Futaba Gy401 Gyro
1x Futaba S9650 Servo
3x Hitec HS-65HB Servos

Ok, I can get all that BRAND NEW for $620 USD shipped to my door.

Now... If I include one of the following Tx and Rx... (price post shipped to door with added selected Tx and Rx) No additional servos included.

- DX7 (Tx+Rx) = $900 USD
- DX6 (Tx+Rx) = $770 USD
- Futaba 6EX 6-Channel 2.4GHz Fasst (Tx+Rx) = $800 USD
- Futaba 6EXH 6-Channel FM with R156F (Tx+Rx) = $755 USD

I don't know which I should go with... I have been looking around and noticed that this is some good pricing, but not sure if it's THAT good.

I'm fairly new, I'm not sure if I'll be making good use of something as good as a DX7, so at this point, I kinda ruled that one out.

Inputs, opinions please!

Thanks!

Do you self a favor op for top of the line stuff this way once you get hooked after your first hover you wont feel the need to have to upgrade bo better equipment. Take from me the only fool out thier to invest $800 on a Blade Cp to fully upgrade that junk to an all aluminum brushless setup.. Goodluck with he heli and look forward to hearing about your first great flight and hover.
You may also want to check out the dream package at this link http://www.helihobby.com/html/trex_helicopter.html along with all the geat packages and prices.

:arggg: after spending alot of money on a cp pro and mostly in repairs and have yet have a good hover after atleast 6 weeks of trying. I now have a DX7 on order to see if a radio upgrade will help and for the main purpose of upgrading to a 450 v2 very soon. No matter what the wife says :badair:

Let's do the math! A NEW SE V2 is $499 to $529. The 401 gyro and 9650 is $195, the 3 HS65HBs are around $100 ..... so around $800. The $620 is a steal if everything is what it says it is!!!! Another $280 for DX-7 and Rx sounds about right.

Make absolutely sure that you are getting a real 2007 New V2 kit ..... and then ....

 Go for it!

Wow, that's a lot of votes for the DX7 combo. Quite a hefty start up cost.

Not to mention I still need a charger and more batteries.

Like the others have said, if you don't do it right the first time, you'll just end up re buying it later. The difference in price between getting a nice solid TX/RX that you'll be happy with for a long time and the cheaper solutions is $150. If that's the difference between being able to take on the hobby or not, I think you might be in for a surprise.

Good luck!

I pulled the trigger! xD God, it almost felt good AND guilty at the same time! LOL

In 1 week, I'll have my Silver T-Rex V2 and the DX7 at my door. I'll then be able to put Finless's build videos to the test!

Bummer the combo only comes with 1 battery and 1 set of main blades though. :P (so greedy  lol)

I'll be frequenting helifreak a lot to pick up tips and will probably be a pesty bugger with noob questions. xD
