View Full Version : Which Neu for my 600

Well I made a order of a Medusa 36-50-1500 and thank GOD that it was out of stock, because I receive a email from Jim and wrote to me that this engine is not good for hard 3D. that they are making a better one. So I told them to refund me the money back.

So the only choice is Neu. I am only going to run 6s lipos no more than that. Which Neu will be the best for me?
I heard about the NEU 1910/1Y with fan , other Neu 1.5Y? I really don't know the difference about one or the other.

The top motor right now on 6S would be the Neu 1515/2.5D/F but you may need a better ESC like one of Castle Creations. But again I am not definitely sure. Read about more in the forums.

Helijj - check the sticky at the top of the forum that reads "power systems that work" for me , i run 6S only and am running the NEU 1515/2.5D/F , it gives great power thruought the flight and stays cooler than the other motors. you can use the stock ESC , but i suggest that you upgrade the ESC if your going to be pulling hard on the motor , just piece if mind. The Castle Creations Phoenix 125 is a great choice , i've also used the CC phoenix 80 , both on this NEU motor... It's hard to beat this motor with a 11T pinion or 12T helical pinion and a 100% throttle curve for idle-up and +- 13 degrees pitch make this setup the best 6S setup IMHO.... :glasses2:

great erniefritz!!! So what is your flying time compare to the stock motor?. Also I see that on motor description some says W/ fan, Fan, 1.5, 5Y. What all that means?

Ok., I just found this 2 Neu motor for the same price. What is the difference from one of the other?

NEU 1515/2.5D/F

the difference is the KV rating on the motor which means the motors have different windings inside... also the 1512 is a smaller motor than the 1515 series. you want the 1515/2.5D/F

You won't be sorry, it's a great motor with lots of power , flying time depends on your flying style , but this motor is a little more efficient than the 600L.

F = finned , not fan , these motors are inrunners , the stock motors are outrunners in a can. the fins on the inruner help dissipate heat more effectively.

Mercuriell that is great info you just gave me, Thank you!!. But I am a newbie in electric heli, and expert in nitro. You guys had help me of the motor definition. But What is the benefit that I can take out of this Volts, Amps, Efficiency Rm, etc. etc? Think that If I am a beginner (that I am) lets take a class of "Electric heli 101" and I have to chose for a motor, Bec, etc. What do you guys look for? How do you know which is the best combination in bec, and motor etc. etc.? How do you understand this graphics?
