Imagine this: you sit in your car, got your seat belt on and try to start the engine. It doesn't start, the car is beeping like crazy and there's message on the dashboard telling you "WARNING! SEAT BELT ON". You put your seat belt off and your car is now ready to go...

But now to something more realistic: you own a DX7, put the the throttle hold switch to the on position, which prevents your motor to accidentally start when you switch on your helicopter. Now you try to turn on your transmitter but it's beeping like crazy and there's message on the display telling you "WARNING! T.HOLD". You turn off throttle hold and can now proceed to switch on your heli...

Bug or feature?

Many radios refuse to power up if not in the default flight mode(s). Including throttle hold off.

This "Bug" doesn't stop you from powering on the RX/Heli with throttle hold "on" at the TX... just makes you more aware of the position of all the switches at the moment you power up the TX.

It can't be a bug because the "feature" is certainly intentional. It is in every JR radio I've ever used. That doesn't mean that it's not a PITA. The flight mode warning is, however, excellent.

That is a feature in most radios I have used. JR, Futaba, Airtronics all have warning sounds for when a condition is activated other than Normal on power up.
