Hi all -
I bought a R5014 receiver on ebay to use on my T-rex 600, but cannot seem to make it connect to my transmitter. Even direct connect via DSC does not seem to work. The receiver LED flashes occasionally, but channel one never moves like it is supposed to according to the instructions.
Any clues on how I might test this thing to determine whether to send it in?
Many thanks,

Many thanks,This may be really simplistic - but - I bought a 12Z about a week ago, and used the trans with some pcm receivers, but didn't bother with the 5014 until last night (yep, was from a local hobby shop, at a great price, and did not have the 5114). I was able to connect to one frequency last night, but couldn't change it. I tried direct also with the DSC - nothing. Since it didn't work with the direct connection, I thought something was wrong. This morning, I turned off all my cordless phones - 4 of them on 5.8Ghz, and it worked perfectly. I still don't understand why it wouldn't work with the direct connect - unless it was getting overloaded by the phones. Hope yours is as simple as this...

I found in order for the receiver to connect what you do is get it all ready to transmit the frequency to the receiver. after the first beep that says it's transmitting THEN turn the receiver on and it should take. THat's what I do with mine and it's worked everytime.
You should hear BEEP at that time turn the receiver on and bingo... connection

That is the sequence I use and it works everytime. I tell the transmitter to send the frequency. And then after it starts transmitting the frequency and beeps a couple of times, I turn on the receiver.
One thing that can cause problems if your inside, is flourescent lights or a wireless router.

I have also found that I can not change frequency at home, At the flying field it works first time every time when I do it as David and Andrew have said.
My house and neighborhood is loaded with wireless stuff.
