What are the major advantages of having the cf blades? How much better are they than the wood.

the wood will absorb more of the impact froma crash and then break. the cf ones will transffer more of the impact to the head. i use nothing but cf blades. cuz they dont flex as much as woodies. plus they will with stand a few more minor crashes

another trick i found works. water the area you fly over, if its your back yard. you shoud do this about 2 or so hours before your ready to fly. if something happens and you go down. the ground is even softer. i have divets in my yard from the blades. no blade damage what so ever.

I've used only CF for quite a while also and really like them for stiffness and durability. I've dumped my heli 3 times since I started using them and they're real tough. I just like the way my heli handles with them too.

why are CP woodies the same price as Trex woodies :S they should be 5 bucks, the quality diff is day and night.

I have to disagree.. when prpoerly balanced the woodies fly well. No there are not = 2 align and yes they are overpriced. thats why I buy eSKY sym woodies (about 1/2 the price) Both often are not well balanced when new and sometimes have CG's that dont match by a couple of mm(which is alot for such a small blade. If you balance them well & track them they will fly well.
Also imo if you consider buying CF blades for durability it will only cause you more trouble in the long run....the blades being the weakest link on this tiny weak little heli is a good thing. Slap some cf blades a few times on something and they will probably be in fine shape, but your rotor head will not. bent feathering shafts will be common (not to mention bent mains & broke blade grips) and if your are not experienced you will probably never know its bent and then not know why your cpp if flying erratically. $.02 from someone who learned this lesson the hard way.

I have crash proof blades for my CP and they do a real good job on the tail boom, and spindle shaft. But I cant get blades here in less than a week and with as much as I crash I need to use them. 3 crashes to a spindle, and main shaft, one crash to the Woodys

I hear ya... the lhs here sells the eflite woodies for $18 & that is insane for me as fragile they are. I buy these: http://www.helidirect.com/index.php?cPath=117_120&sort=2a&page=2 The $7.32 ones. I buy a fist full at a time and then place some tape on the leading edge of the last 1 to 2 inches of the blade. This greatly helps them stay intact from minor crash and bangs. Then I dyn&stat balance them.

i havent bought blades in awhile. i have noticed tho that in the event of a crash the way the blades fold they hit my cnc mixing arms. it has put a very very very smal cut in the blades..

you might need to save the pic and zoom in on it...photoshop resize sucks..

Well I cashed my heli today fine tuning my new Dx7. It busted up my last set of woodies. I went to lhs to get some new ones & they wanted $18 for eflite woodies :bomb: I refuse to pay that for those blades so I went home empty handed and threw on the old plasti-blades I had from when I first bought my cpp.
I hate plastic's on every level but I wanted to fly with this dx7 sooo bad. I figured I would just practice some hovering and do some tuning to my radio with them on for this weekend until some new woods arrive. long story short. I sliced my boom in half. :arggg: This was my 1st boomstrike in 9+ months (since I last flew those dumb blades). This time I not only took off the plasti's I threw them in the trash. :dontknow Well back to lhs I went.
So now I have my cpp all put back to geather and it has a set of CF's on it. I just refuse to pay $18 for woodies.

My first impressions of the Eflite CF blades are good.
Blade 1 was 11.08g and the CG was 131mm from the tip.
Blade 2 was 11.07g and the CG was 131mm from the tip.
--The dynamic balance out of the pakage was near perfect.
--And the static balance was also very very close. only .01g difference in weight.
--The CF's also track very well.
As far as balancing these blades could have come out of the pakage and strait onto the bird. 1 out of 10 pairs of woodies might be close to being this well balanced right out of the package. Often the woodies are way off when new desparately need balancing before they are flown.
I was impressed with the actual weight of the blades too. I have had new woodies that weighed nearly 10g (only a couple sets). Usually I like to see woods come in under 7g.
So far I am very pleased. The main difference I can see that they will have is the flex. I will fly a few packs today and report back my 1st impressions of how they fly. i have a feelin' Im gonna like flyin' them for FFF and minor acro.

again i love y cf blades. i dont bother balancing blades cuz i dont have abalancer YET!!

when i put on my cfs and got used to sym blades. i noticed that the cyclic felt alittle more sharp. i actually found minor ff then fly tail in to brign the heli back. much easyer..

Well the plasti-Blades did a great job on my tail boom, and I am still waiting on parts, It bites being as spectator to all the crashes I want to have my own. Explaining to the wife about needing spares is a tad difficult but she is cool and lets me get them, I wear the pants she just strongly suggests which ones.
