ok guys im about to hook up my speed controlller and motor and eagle tree
now questions i have
do i run a ferrite ring on the wire coming form the CC speedy to the reciver ???
has anyone got some pics for me so i can see some layouts of the electrics ?
which wire from the motor goes to which one on the speedy as all the wires comign fron the motor are black? solder or connectors on these ?
Now i was give a eagle tree thing to measure the amount of MAH i have pulled from a pack, so i can get it right, this goes in between the battery and speedy leads , now is there any rf noise etc from these where it needs to be mounted away from the reciver ?
When setting up the speedy do i use a brake setting?
i was planing on no govenor mode as its supposed to use less Mah and i will get a longer run time, knowing i will have throttle curves to set up.
If theres any other setting i need to know about please post it for me
i will be useing a Dx7 i think rather than my 14mz, i just dont want a glitch !
thanks Dale

The ferrite ring goes onto power cables not control wires, so my guess it will be around one of the 3 wire between speedy and motor. With wires from speedy to motor you wil have to experiment. Randomly connect them all and check motor direction if it is rotating the right way you've got it right. If it is rotating the wrong way, swap any two wires. Solder or crimp? Most of us solder. You should use govenor mode, we rarely use brake on helis - the difference in runtime is neglible.
If you bought the Razor from Glenn of RCHeliWorld, he should be able to get you in touch with somebody from Victoria to help you, I can help you but I am in Sydney!!

Well, how did it go ?
Ferrite ring goes on the esc to rx lead, i use Kontronic bullet connectors from motor to esc , it allows dissconection and motor swaps if need be. As posted above just connect the 3 wires from the motor to the esc if the motor run the wrong way swap any 2 of the leads or reprogram the esc to reverse the motor.
Follow Bob's instructions on the esc and i have heard the latest CC update is an improvement. Definatly no brake and the eagletree shouldnt cause any noise especially if you are using the Dx7

Hey Dale I've great success with CC esc's, just ask Glenni and Chris, and the ferrite ring goes on the control lead, some suggest close to the esc to stop those naughty rf noises real quick

I have set up my HV85 for the Hacker A50 14s as follows:
Cutoff Voltage - Auto-LiPo detect
Current Limiting - Insensitive
Brake Type -Brake Disabled
Throttle Type - Governor Mode - High RPM Range
Electronic Timing Advance - Low Advance Timing
Cutoff Type - Soft Cutoff
Soft Start - Soft Start
PWM Switching Rate - 11kHz

I set up my CC as follows
Cutoff 18V
Current limit Disabled
High Gov
Timing Default, I think Mid
Cutoff Softest
Start power 25
PWM default 13Khz
All three of my CC esc are set the same for my Raptor, Razor and Ion
The 50 size are using Zpower motors and the IONx is using Actro 32/3
all stay cool and plenty of power for general and soft 3D
