Any guru's out there?
I have a Canon ZR80 mini DV camcorder, and I'm unimpressed with the video quality. I bought it for filming heli stuff and the video footage is not crisp and clear. I've played with the different AE settings, and for outdoors filming helis the "snow/sun" setting seems to be best for color quality. But, the "focus" doesn't seem sharp...I've tried both auto and manual. Manual is better because you don't get the fuzzy image as the camera struggles to find something in the sky to focus on, but I thought "digital" meant pretty clear - I was expecting a huge jump over the old tape technology. Even the AVI file straight out of the camera is "ok", but not stellar.
If it's a crappy camera, (which I don't know makes and models) then I'll quit trying to get better video out of it. I just didn't know if there are more settings to check.....it's disappointing to see some other folks posting videos and they are razor sharp. Are you supposed to clean the heads on these things??
