Hi All

I'm thinking of buying the Apache from IndyHelis and was just wondering if anyone has fitted a turbine in one, I emailed them and they were not much help, If this has been done what mechanics and what turbine have been used.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello Busterex, I just fitted a Jakadofsky Turbine into my LM Apache. The problem is the exhaust. Mine exits between the "Scale" ports. My good friend Al Wert from Starwood Models did the bottom mount Jakadofsky in his with the exhaust exiting just below the Scale Exhaust pods (Were the lower doors go on the side of the fuse. Looks good and not real noticable ... seems to be the better choice as mine is Ugly :) But will work!!

The main issue with shoe horning a turbine in ours is the the top doesnt come off enough to have access to the mechanics and especially the exhaust. it wouldnt be impossible but it would however be a very very tight fit, as it is already with our mechanics and they are some of the most narrow mechanics out there.
There would just have to be some big modifications and that all depends one what turbine mechanics your going with. And there are sooo many different setups now available to choose from...

does it really adopt the real apache flying style. for eg. when hovering, the body of the heli is slightly tilted backward, but when in ff, the body is parallel to the ground or slightly forward??

that all depends if you tilt the mechanics in the fuselage.. there should be 5 degrees tilt and this is wht the real one has and gives it the tail down look. so when sitting the rotor is level but the body isnt of course..
