About to purchase the SE V2 kit. I have the DX7 and AR7000 RX. I have lined up the 401 gyro and JR servos(3xDS285 & DS3400G.) I have watched Finless' videos and am still confused about something. The heli kit comes with a 3s1p 11.1v 2100mAh 22c lipo and the 35A ESC (w/6v BEC I think.)
The AR7000 RX comes with a 4.8v 1100mAhr 4s NiCd pack.

I know the lipo pack runs the motor and that the RX commands the ESC for throttle. My question: Which battery drives the servos and gyro? Do I need any voltage regulation in this setup? If the RX pack runs everything but the motor, do I need a better pack? Hope I am asking the right questions.
Thanks for any input.

on a t-rex the esc powers the reciever and electronics. the esc takes some of the power from the main battery and lowers it to 6v. you dont need to use the rx pack with the align esc.

Hi Rufusis.

The Rx, gyro and servos is powered trough the wire from the ESC. You have four digital servos in your setup. Digital servos use more power than the other type. This will put a strain on your ESC. You should check to make sure the ESC can handle four digital servos. It probably will, but it's better to make sure. You also might want to look at servos with metal gear instead of nylon. Metal gear wont strip as easy when you crash. Hitec HS65MG is a popular choice, good quality and easy on your wallet :D

COULD I use the RX pack as well, or should it all run off the main lipo?
My understanding is that these JR's were metal gear, I was wrong. Thanks!
