I am new to this hobby and just a question.
Just wondering. How small of a gas engine does someone make?
Also are nitro engines better at keeping a constant headspeed?
What are the pros of a gass heli besides fuel cost.?
Does the gas give you more torque, I am just wondering

Thanks

the smallest I've seen for model use is a 23cc engine, they have a lot of torque, but it's heavier than the same glow (power) equivalent. If you want gassers, go for the bigger names like Vario, Bergen or Miniature Aircraft. Expect to pay a premium price as they are premium quality machines.
Unless you have the knack for tweaking curves, the engines will require a governor and stator gator.

I've seen a manufacturer convert the Zenoah 20CC engine for heli use. Uses the electronic spark system too.

There is spark ignition petrol engine pictured on this Months BMFA News. It's 1.3cc (0.08 cubic inch) and was built by Hallam Engines, Poole Dorset UK circ 1938

Be it a Free Flight engine and not heli - but it's still small :glasses2:

Webra has a 15cc gasser engine but its reported to have some problems.

I'd buy a MA or Vario heli as gasser. Both are $$$$ and high quality.
