I'm in. Of course not many of the guys on this board know me, but I'm hoping to change that over the next year or so.

I've had the same experience as Stiffey. I've been contacted by a half dozen guys in as many years, all through the pilot locator.

Bart put it very well,

Clint is looking for actual people who are willing to step forward and say "Hey...if Im in your area and you need help setting up your heli or helping you learn to fly then I'm your guy." The pilot locator does a good job of bringing us all together to fly with one another but few on there are willing to give their time and talents to help another or some arent experienced enough. This is JUST a network...not an organization.

I am not trying to undermine any Org. or trying to belittle anyone. I want to creat a list of folks who are willing to step up and say I would like to help and I kniow these radios and these helis. For example I helped Crazy Bus Driver with the setup of a heli, he had a CSM 540 gyro which I had no knowledge of but I remembered there being a setup example and some comments from Bob J. Man it saved me alot of time but just by chance I remembered seeing it. All I am saying is that some guys are intimadated by the locator but if they check out the Freak then they know We as a group are for real.............we truely want to promote the Hobby and help people. I just want to make it easy for folks to get help and to find the fellowship that we all enjoy. I started the invasion Idea but it is the efforts of others that has helped it grow into something that has become really cool . For ex. Dean has really done alot of work to get it going in Kuwait. Man I think this is cool.............

The true spirit of a Heli Invasion is indeed the low presure and willingness of so many people to help others. I feel as if I may have helped to get it started but the Good people of Our Heli community are the ones who really keep it all going. I go to many events and I often get spread so thin it is crazy. David H. told me to be carefull not to burn out but after afew days I called him back and told him I guess anything worth doing is worth doing right!!!!!!!! David is a wonderfull ambasador for our hobby and he is one of the most approachable people out there. If you have never met David you should look him up @ a FF this year.

Well, I am not trying to replace any locator or special Org. but I would like to thank all the people who put for the efforts to make these things happen. I am tgonna be talking to Will and try to get a quick list of some sort going and I would like to see a thread kept going so we can follow the progression of everyone and I think it is cool to help someone and see them helping someone later, Yes I guess like a pyramid.

Thanks everyone for responding and thanks for all the Help. In short a Heli Invasion can be 3 or 4 guys or even 100. It can be new guys getting help or it can be seasoned pilots helping each other progress and pushing each other and sometimes it is just hanging out. One thing for sure..........as long as you follow one rule it is all good..........."If you ain't having fun, go Home "..........Glad to be part of Heli Freak.

I'm not sure how many people know it but HeliFreak-Invasion brings 3 Ez-Ups (minimum sometimes more)and 6 big tables, and 10 chairs, a generator and powersupply to all the events we attend so that we have a good place to hold the clinics and also a place for a lot of people to pit and be in the shade and charge their stuff. We also have a big Dynatron starter and Radio South or Duralite Glow Igniter that people are free to use on our starting/fueling table. We bring water and suncscreen to. We try to facilitate fun and make it easy for people to succeed. When the weather gets bad, bunches of people are known to stick their stuff in our truck and trailer to protect it from the elements. We bring a huge box full of tools, and electrical toolbox with soldering stuff and a Dremel Tool. Yes it is a lot of work, but it hs paid off many times over when we see the smiling faces of people we have worked with.

I guess what I am trying to say here is that Clintstone is definitely not trying to take away from any group or organization, he is taking thing to an even higher level than has been done before. He is unselfishly giving of himself to promote the hobby, to promote succcess of people just getting started in the hobby and he is promoting fun and fellowship to everyone involved in the hobby!

Clintstone was the biggest inspiration for me to start development on HeliFreak.com. When I saw what he was doing, I just felt like it was my calling to join him and do what I could to help Clint and the Invasion spirit. I felt like it was my destiny to meet and get together with Clint.

Basically It all started when I bought a 30% Aeroworks Laser 200 from Randall Norris that was Clints, and Randall shared info about Clint to me that day when I met him to pick it up. I had washed out on helis 2 times since 1985, and Randall convinced me Clint was IT and I should try again one more time..... Shannon Davis filled in the blanks and helped me set my choppers back up after crashes when I could not go to Clints.

Clint is the kind of guy who shows you and empowers you to know what to do the next time after he helps you. I had 2 Raptor 60's and when he initially helped me he showed me on one and got me to show him on the second. It worked. :)

I am very happy we met and I have progressed right along with Clintstone's help and direction to where we are today. We are going to try our best to bring the HeliFreak-Invasion to more events and farther distances this coming season so more of you can see what it is all about first hand.

HeliFreak.com and the HeliFreak-Invasion is all about being real, the fun, the learning, and showing mutual respect to our fellow R/C Flyers. We LOVE all forms of R/C aviation and we do what we can to promote it and build up our great hobby!!

Clintstone ROCKS!! I know and have met a big network of people involved in our great hobby, and I can tell you with 100% certainty that Clint is THE MAN that promotes the hobby in the biggest way!! Bravo Clintstone!!

If you like what you see and feel here at HeliFreak.com then you can see Clintstones work even if your not at an Invasion Event. :) It is definitely not about taking anything away from anyone, it is all about giving back to the hobby and people Clint loves.

I would like to establish a network of Freaks. I would like to have a list of goto guys around the Country , who are able and willing to help with setup and just getting guys off on the right foot...

Count me in, I'm in Bayside, NY, that's in Queens, close to the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Long Island. I've been working at a local hobby shop, but business has gotten slow and I'll only be working there when someone can't make it in from this point on.

I was the "heli guy" at this shop, and I told them that I'd still provide help to anyone who asked, free of charge. Since I won't be there much of the time, I have more free time on my hands that I'd like to use to help people out.

Clint, contact me by PM for any contact info you might need, I'm ready and willing to help any way I can.

David

I'm in for the folks in south Texas. There are a ton of experienced heli fliers down here to draw experience and knowledge from.

Thanks guys, I am talking with Will and figuring out the best way to make it easier for guys to get help. You guys a great and true assets to this great Hobby and really impress me with your willingness to help a fellow pilot in need. Again this is not intended to replace or work against any pilot locator but I simply would like to make it easier for guys to get help with no intimidation as we have all clearly volenteered. Sometimes the pilot locators are not up to date and that is our fault not the webmasters as they can only post what we supply them with. Our list will help make it easy when we want to do a clinic @ an event I wont have to dig thru all the list to get Our Guys who want to help. Thanks for the support and thanks also to Will who has really taken steps to make things nice @ events by supplying the EZ ups and tables ETC....
I will put another post up asking for info as we need it. Thanks in Advance and remember " If you ain't having FUN .........GO HOME " This is a Hobby and lets Keep It Real.....

We don't have any good heli-oriented hobby shops in southwest Michigan, but if there's anyone who wants to drive to Kalamazoo, MI to look for help, I'd be willing to do anything I can for them. I'm no accomplished pilot, but I know how to help a guy het his bird set up reasonably well. I also know several other heli pilots in the area (varying degrees of skill) who love any excuse to go fly.
