Thanks to Bob and his great videos I now have my Hurricane up and flying.
So far I have made 5 flights, all with my Common Sense battery packs, and all about 5 minute flights. Don't want to push it just yet as I am still feeling my way with this bird. But I am impressed coming from a TRex and a Falcon 3D.
The new frame plates sound great and I think will be a worthwhile upgrade.
Again, much appreciation to you Mr. Finless and your excellent videos.

My Hurricane arrived yesterday and I got a correction sheet that says that I got the new steel-pinion, the new inproved BL-Motor (850kv), and new esc.
I dident even know that they were going to change the motor?
Anyone tried out this motor yet?
Bob, After flying your heli, did you change the hole on the tailservo or was the throw good?
And have you have any trouble with the mixerarm binding as you show in head setup video?
Cheers,
David

Some of the kits i have received recently have this motor - They look the same as the 1500w, but as there are no identifiers it's hard to say if its an 850 or the 1500.
Is this the motor you got Dadde?

Wow... looks like a ZPower clone!
Would be interesting to see how well the motor powers the heli?
Let me know when someone trys it and shoot a vid if you can.

Yeah, my motor is a little different too, shorter shaft so the pinion goes on the other way from what you have in the video.

Hi,
Same "new" motor here, pinion has to go upside down.
As for the power...the same as the old one i would say (looking at finless flying vids and my hurricane here)

picture with nerw motor and customized "dx7 servo" wheels....glad i got that done..

Maidened mine today! Nice heli, I think this one's a keeper. I will definitely be looking to put in a new motor eventually, as the stock one is okay for light 3D, but no tic tocs, etc. My stock woodies aren't that bad, balanced out of the box and track good.
Overall, it feels lighter in the air than my Swift and performance is better than my Swift's 4S setup. Shot a couple autos too, really nice!
I'm running FP 2150's, Century 55/70 esc, DX7 w/AR7000/DS821's/1100mah rx pack, 401/9254 on the tail.
Thanks Bob! I think I'll only build heli's that you do build vids on, as they always turn out really nice.

hi bob, i recall from your "2nd flight" video running the 500mm mikado carbons it would really kick with flightpower 2500s.
i've been thinking of getting proper batts for my hurricane instead of just using my trex batts (2150 TPs), as it's restricted my trex flying (hurricane eats up 4 trex batts for just 2 flights and since I only have 5 lipos, it leaves my trex for just 1 flight)
so have you been able to use 2500s on your hurricane already? if you were, was wondering how is it? i'm based in Singapore and thinking of getting some 2500s here, we're fortunate enough to have a good and kind supplier of enerland polyquest lipos so was thinking of either those (it features 2c charging rate and about 20grams lighter than the 2500 flightpower lipos)

The motor I got is the same as dutch_anykey's.
It has a shorter shaft with a flatspot on the other side.
Have to try it out. It looks nicer than the other motor I think :D

My 2500's are on the way so no sorry I have not had a chance to try them yet.
I am hoping they will get here in the next week.
Nice looking builds guys!
Naruto28, is that the FP canopy? I want one :)

No, that's just the plastic canopy. I guess newer kits are coming unpainted aside from the black windscreen.

Hi,
I got my canopy white as well.
I did airbrush it....but forgot to primer the plastic first :arggg:
So here it is....in the picture it doesnt show the "real" color..it's "pain in the eyes" orange and yellow/gold.
For me it was either this color or buy a pair of glasses...sometimes having problems seeing it up there in the sky hehe
Is the FG canopy availlable already somewhere out there?

Great paint job. It looks really cool.
I'm looking for a FG canopy in the uk for my 550. Its a great looking heli, but the cheap plastic canopy lets it down. Hope to find one soon.

Nice pant job. I imagine Hellga is going to be pretty upset with you if you wreck your Hurricane again.
After 56 flights I finally banged up my Hurricane doing an auto. I have been getting good at doing autos but this time I allowed the head speed to get to slow and dropped it into some weeds. I took out the boom and bent the flybar. It cost less then $10 to get back in the air. I have 64 flights on this thing and I’m having a ball!

Last night I flew my friends Hurricane with the new motormount upgrade, I was doing maybe 15-20 tic/tocs and I can now report that this works great with the powerfull Z30 motor. One more thing we tried was to put on a Raptor 50 flybar...Oh My G! This thing now turns on a dime!
I am putting in a Z30 in mine as well. Even if I am a little "against" upgrades, I have now mounted the CNC elevator arm, flybar controll arm and swashplate guide. All of these makes diffrence. The flybar controll arms make it very simple to really get the paddles straigt and aligned. Elevator arm is just for security when flying hard, and offcourse, the swashplate guide, helps to keep the swashplate in line when abusing and putting alot of force on it!
I will put a Raptor 50 flybar on mine as well :D Nice, cheap upgrade for extreme response! Acctually it also got a little more stable with this on.

Piranha, I LOVE your canopy!!!!!
It's a retro 60's kinda thing and I think it is cool!
Fung!!! Please watch my build vids and it will explain EXACTLY what problems need to be fixed.
