"Nice SAve"?? :lolol

He was just damn "Lucky"......

The Heli Gods were on his side that day......or else we would have had a "spectacular video" Although... I think it was more spectacular to see him make it than crash.....we don't want to see any 550's crash....we'll leave that to the Trex guys !! :flamedevil

man you guys make me so jealous!!

I really need to get some more airtime

I know i know i should also get more sim time as well

i can loop and roll on the sim, i can pirouette all day long the sim, just seem much easier than real life not sure how to make it more realistic to be like the hurry.
but in reality i am scared of pirouettes!!

Had my only hurry crash doing a pirouette and the same for my new trex that was attempting a climbing pirouette

am getting better at nose in on sim though

but when i am scared of pirouettes its hard to try new stuff!

I know I know ............ all i need is practice!

but when do you have the time!!!

got to admit having thoughts of ressurecting the 4 channel fp piece of crap and doing alot of orientation practice with it.hell i used to laugh when i crashed that......jealous as of you guys who have other rc experience...it must help in some form or another with the mental flip required once you move from tail on.the only other rc experience i've got, well lets face it.if the teli and dvd are facing any direction but straight on yer a ****ing idiot...:DOH

Wazzer - thanks mate. I hope it didn't take you too long to clean up after the vid mate!

Kahn - I have no other RC experience mate, so if I can get the hang of it anyone can. I gota admit that nose in was a big hurdle for me. I threw everything at it & was coming off 2nd best until I went back to basics & put the training gear on, sat the heli nose in on the ground in front of me and started learning to hover all over again but nose in this time.

I would highly recommend this. It took 2 weeks of solid practice before I took the TG off and could hover nose in comfortably. Once you get nose in nailed you fell liberated, & your flying goes to another level.

Cheers
Graeme

Ben,

I got stuck in the same way - one of the ways that I managed to get extra air-time was to buy a much smaller heli (a 200 in my case) so that I don't need as much room to fly - this one is really good value and flies really nicely http://www.elemodel.com/shopen/html/product_1481.html get some small servos and a cheapo gyro and off you go. They are really resilient and fly well.

The other thing that I did was speed up the sim (on Phoenix you can adjust this) things happen quicker then and it is not as easy and closer to real life.

Cheers,
Mike.

Here's a little video from tonight. I was getting dark and it was hard for my old eyes to see, so I didn't push it. I'd like to pass on starting an I crashed 6 thread.

Thanks for the advice mike that's kinda why i got the trex 450 so i can get more airtime but lately its not working out for either of us but i managed to get 3 packs through the 450 tonight.

Bob and i have lots of 2200 size batts that just wont cut it on the Hurry's plus Bob also has a 450 so we have almost matching set ups so we can share spare parts.

those little 200s sure do look like fun though.

grahame thats a shit hot idea for attacking nose on......and the weathers crap for a bit.time to make up some crash gear i mean landing gear and get to it in the shed....thanks for that;)
flinto don't even talk about metal detectors....before i moved outa home i rented one of the arsehole things cause i had a ring that had been hand made for me flip off my finger when i was pruning the grape vines....four hours of nuts bolts washers bits of rusty crap....everything but my ring....gonna have to explain that to some boys one day

I didn't realise that you had been able to repair the 450 - I thought that it was totalled. I have to admit that I found the 450 / 400 size to be "the worst of both worlds" - not big enough to see easily, but too intimidating to fly close - it seems that it's just me though as it is probably the single most popular size :oops:

Nope not totaled at all.

The damage was fairly light actually considering the speed it went in and onto concrete!!
had her fixed in no time just haven't had chance to fly her until this evening. She was super smooth again and really stable. Just hovering about though as still need to build my confidence again with such little airtime recently.

Cant wait to get the hurry in the air again as fitted a load of upgrades and mods and havnt had the chance to test her out yet either.

been working away on site moving house and next week on our belated Honeymoon in Bali.. so no chance to fly anything.

I may take your advice and speed up the sim a little though that sounds like a good idea.

Cheers

it's the most popular size because everyone and their brother keeps telling newbies that they need to buy a trex 450se v2 or they'll never learn to fly...

what they should be telling them is to get the BIGGEST heli they can afford... and make sure they can afford to crash it... often

I can say from experience that the Trex 450 costs the same to crash as the Hurricane so for newbs i think its an ideal helli to learn on especially now that a decent pair of zippy's can be had for 100USD inc shipping!!
