View Full Version : Raptor .30 Pitch Range

I set up the pitch range on my Raptor .30 so that the entire slot in the side frames is used. I seem to have only -10 to +10 collective range.

Is this normal?

Does anyone take a Dremel tool to the side frames to obtain more pitch (I would like -11 to +11).

I am still tuning and adjusting but it just does not seem to have a lot of "Pop" when you punch it (perhaps I am hoping for too much from a .30 sized helicopter).

It flies well, but seems a bit slow all the way around (cyclic and tail).

Thank you all in advance.

I too am starting to want alot more response from my Tail and Cyclic.
Ah Clem, I don't understand what parts you are dremeling away to gain more pitch, could you please explain that to me?

I believe he's talking about lengthening the grooves in the upper side frames that guide the collective control arm. My suspicion is that you would run into binding problems if you did that and allowed more movement in the collective control arm, but I don't know for sure.

All I get is 10/10 on my 30. You can use the G-Force mixing arms to give you a bigger pitch range... although you will need a strrong 30 motor to make the most of it. I can easily get 13+ degrees of pitch on my 50 using these mixer arms.

Thank you all for responding.

Funky,

Those are beautiful mixing arms. I think I will go with those.
