Hey guys, it's been a while but the weather has cleared up, school is over and it was finally time to get my bird in the air last weekend.
Since it's my very first flight, I only wanted to hover a little and do some final settings.
The tail kept spinning CCW, I had to reset my Gyro to +90 (from +50) and even then it still had a little play. Is this normal? what should I do?
The bird does not lift off till stick is almost at 70-75% throttle. Then, it lifts rapidly! Should I change the pitch curves so it starts lifting at lower RPMs? (normal mode everything). I set everything according to Fineless so far.
Also when bringing the stick down, it's lands rapidly as well, leading me to my first CRASH lol, I broke one of the landing skids (ordered Align bump resistance ones, are they any good?)
Should I change those curves as well to make it land softer?
Your advise is greatly appreciated, thanks

the tail spinning around really fast normally means the gyro is reversed. i dont know if there is a switch to reverse the gyro output signal on the telebee gyro, if there isnt then maybe someone who knows how to reverse it can tell you.
also, what is your pitch and throttle curves set up in you transmitter?

The tail is not spinning fast, just a little CCW. My Gyro curves where +50 for both standard and HH mode. I had to set it to +90 in HH mode to get it to hold the tail, but still have some play.
My curves are set according to Fineless videos. Here's a link to my previous post:

If you have it set up for 3/4 stick hover, which is usual for 3-d, it's going to seem a little touchy till you get used to it. Just tame down your stick input. I wouldn't change the rpm, but you could change the pitch curve to "soften" it up a bit.

I would keep the pitch curves as they are and just get used to it. If you change them now, as you start to do 3D you will have to learn stick position all over again.

I see what you guys are saying, any more suggestions/opinions on this will be appreciated. This is my first Heli and I realy don't wanna crashhhh it lol. I'm trying to learn as safely as possible.

First of all the gyro you have isn't the best... you say you're in HH and it turns one way or the other while hovering, with this gyro and others like it you'll HAVE to adjust the sub-trim for the rudder channel nearly EVERY time you plug-in and initialize the gyro.
Here's what to do---plug in the heli's battery (TX is already on), let it initialize, once set you will have to look at the rudder servo horn to see if it's creeping to one side of the other... you'll have to stop the creeping by using your sub-trim.
You'll want NO movement on that rudder horn before you lift off.
Pitch curves set to Finless vids? If so it's good to go! Collective pitch seem too sensitive? That's pretty much how it is my friend... It only takes a "lean" on the collective stick to make the bird go up and down. In time you'll learn to "lean" on ALL the sticks to give smooooooth movements to the heli.
Once you get comfortable and good at it you'll want to install a Futaba 401 gyro. Once you use the 401 you WILL take the Telebee gyro and drop it in the trash!
FYI: In Bob's tech room vid area he has a vid on setting up a Telebee gyro, check it out.

Check the video forun for the tail.gyro setup for the HDX 300. That is the Telebee/ALign/etc gyro. You have to adjust the subtrim to remove creep in HH mode.
