Hi,
Anybody have a good way to setup the ATG with a 9Z radio? I would like to have it the following way:
Normal mode: OFF
Idle 1: 1600rpm
Idle 2: 1950rpm
Controlled using Switch E (Idleup switch).
Someone has to know this.
Thanks

9z with 9 channel Futaba Reciever
Use Throttle in Channel 3 (default)
ATG RPM control (wire with Blue Heat Shrink) in Channel 5
ATG RPM control (wire with Blue heat shrink) can be used in Channel 7 as long as Channel 3 and Channel 7 travel set to 100/100 or less.
Ever which channel the ATG RPM control wire is plugged in.
Then go into the Function control menu on the 9Z. Make that channel also controlled by Switch E also.
For example if the RPM control is plugged into Channel 7, then also make Ch 7 controlled by Switch E. Just highlight the channel in the function control menu and then select Switch E as the one to control it. You should then see SW E in the same box as Channel 7.
This works the same with any type governor that uses an RPM control wire.

Yes. I have done that. I used to have a GV-1.
But it then says to use ATV to control the rpm. How is this possible to get 3 different rpms since ATV is endpoint adjustment? So it will be ATV for AUX1 = channel 7.

The ATV is separate for each flight condition. You can have 100% ATV in Normal mode , 80% in Idle 1, 60% in Idle 2.
Those are just examples, but the ATV's are adjustable in each flight condition. So you just set the ATV on Channel 7 to give the RPM you desire in each flight condition.

I thought so, but I was short on time last night when I was trying to get it setup. I guess I need to go over it again.
Thanks.

okay, I know why I got so confused last night about it.
If I use ATV for AUX1 for Switch E, then it does not work. Yes, each flight mode has a different ATV, but if I start with the switch all the way down (Normal mode), I can set the ATV A point at 0 = ATG OFF. But when I switch to idle1 (Switch E in the middle, then the marker on the screen moves to the middle of the screen and I can't adjust the ATV in the middle since ATV is only endpoints. So the ATG is OFF in this mode. When switching to Idle2 I can adjust the ATV B point. This won't work for me, to have the ATG on in normal mode, off in idle1 and on in idle2!
I am lost.
Can I use a pmix of some kind?
Someone has to be using the ATG with a 9Z?

Hi,
I think I have it all setup now.
If you are using the Futaba 9Z radio with the ATG it seems you can't use the ATV to adjust different head speeds. You have to use PMIX instead.
I used an offset PMIX that is assigned to AUX1. You can then use different offsets for the different flight modes. This seems to do the trick.
I will test fly the helicopter this weekend.
Thanks for your help.
