Agree with JB - I tried the standard skids on my second 550, for about 3 flights and then immediately changed them for the Trex 600 skids - they give a much wider, more stable stance and also really help visibility.

Cheers,
Mike

mine drifts too...but only nose to the left instead...someone told me once that you should never have any sub trim either...but if you do and you have a spektrum you can rebind after the subtrim is inputed to get the horn at 90 degrees and this should fix the drift too...never got to try it as i am currently upgrading to a rotorworkz frame and havent finished it yet...ill post pics soon...

Well, training gear issue is SOLVED!! hehe, but not necessarily in the BEST way. Nothing bad, except came down a little hard and my gear cracked through the CA bond between some cross member rails I constructed into the gear.

Anyway, got some new T-Rex 600 skids, all bolted on and ready to go for a flight or two tomorrow! They really do sit nice and wide! They also seem like they have some decent "spring" in their step.

I will let you know how my new "free and easy" flying style goes.

Hi guys, my first post, woohoo!!:)

This is my stocker with a QWW canopy, I like it.

I'm running 8sA123, Z30a 1110kv, Align 75amp. I'm getting 6 min of sport flying with a few loops and rolls. Cheers, kosta.

Hey thanks for the welcome. The canopy is from here http://www.ewtech.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=hhi&Product_Code=HHI8011&Category_Code=Fiberglass_Canopies

Fits real nice with plenty of room.

Hey Kosta welcome to the Site

Really great bunch o guys here... well.... me and JB anyway!

Good looking canopy but i hope you dont mind me saying it needs some Bigger Landing gear!!

Try Raptor or Rex600 Landing Gear will make you heli look really nice IMO

Does the flybar assembly clear the canopy at full deflection? looks pretty close in the pics

See ya around

Dont forget to post a pic of you and your bird in the Stand Up and Be Seen thread.

Great forum.

Nice work Ben, you guessed it spot on. I had to trim a tiny amount off the rear top of the canopy for the flybar to clear at full deflection. I wonder how much deflection the flybar has? I'll have to get me some trex 600 gear to put on. Cheers, kosta.

I personaly prefere the raptor landing gear as its more curved put thats just my preference

The Trex600 gear looks good too

Wouw Kosta that Canopy looks awesome,
I was wondering how you mount your A123's underneath the canopy,
I also fly 8S A123 ad having a bit trouble with the stock Hurri canopy,
So zould you please make a photo of you mounting the A123's without canopy ?

That Canopy looks promising, I think i would do some trimming but before
I order id like to see some more pics from ya please

Well here it is out of the box. I sorry I went stock RTF as I now in the process of changing things out. I've had this a few months now, but it is slow buying my replacement upgrades. Only have so much to spend each month. New paddles, new tail blades, new 600 skids, some cnc parts, lots of screws, balls and links (Gaui, Raptor, Rocket City), and a new radio on the way. Now I'm looking to go with a Z20A, Gy401, align or castle ESC and new batteries. I may try some basic hovering next month, but I want this fitted out before I go to far. Listening to finless, I broke it down and rebuit it. Learning a lot from that. Here's my recent stab at painting the canopy. It you haven't noticed, I'm in my golden years and need something I can see easily. Port side is florescent orange and starboard is florescent yellow. Can't miss this! I've got some experience on an old coaxial micro, and on my ESKY HB2 CP. Too flighty! Can't wait to maiden this one.

Hi WuTangcl, here's a couple of pic's showing how I mount my A123's. I couldn't fit the original canopy with this configuration so that's why I went with the QWW canopy. I think it looks better and now I've got room to spare. kosta.

Hey Backwall, VERY cool idea with the "port vs. starbord" scheme. Thanks... thanks a bunch... going to cost me ANOTHER foot-rub for MORE canopies!

Jagged Edge, also looks great! Don't you love this bird!?! :YeaBaby:

Finally, WOW kosta, that's a TON of battery you are packing into your Hurricane! cool!
