any chance of some pics showing the mod needed to mount the trex 600 canopy?

It would be nice to run larger canopies. My only fear would be the canopy moving up a bit and being caught by the flybar during hard flight. BL, any problem so far with the flybars hitting the larger canopy while doing snap pushouts or other maneuvers?
Sorry for the bad quality photo taken from my cell phone.
I make used of a body frame of Esky FP and epoxied the original canopy hock onto it as shown in the photo.
As the canopy is a bit wider than the hurri canopy, the trex600 canopy mounting rod is used. Make sure is trex600 ep, not the nitro. The nitro is a bit shorter.
It has no problem for the flybar, has tested with full cyclic flip.
If you want to see how is the effect with bigger canopy, here is the link

Thanks BL. The pictures were fine and they helped me understand what you did to lower the canopy enough so it wouldn't be in flybar range.
Mike, nice pics.. looks good!

Hey Mike Congrats
Always nice when you have a Maiden flight and all goes well.
How do you like the Z30 so far?
I was hoping to maiden my hurricane this weekend after a massive overhaul and upgrades
but the seems to be a conspiracy to keep me too busy to get some air time!!

Me too Ben,. sooooo wanna fly, what is it with all this social life, work hard all week and then get so busy with parties, weddings, meetings and eating that no time to do anything, v frustrating! Taking birds to Kudat next week to try and get some after work flying done, if not too tired, keep finding small bits of red and white wooden splinters at the bungalow, any ideas ha ha?

Ben
I didn't fly it enough to really ring it out....my first impression was "was it worth it" vs the Z20 ? There was a lot of comotion going on and I was not really able to concentrate and listen to the differences in the motors...I haveit geared with the 13t pinion, 50t fisrt.20t OWB and 61t main....so it should be about the same as the Z20 ship.....I think it doesn't bog like the Z20 and a little faster fwd speed and definately faster climb rate.
I think I'm going to like it...and it was fun to fly each heli......the Z30 does feel solid as a rock.....andI have a little tail wag on the Z20 that I almost wonder if it's the ESC....because there is a definate change in RPM's. I also changed to non gov to see if it will help.

very nice!! is the paint really still wet or did you clear coat it with a high gloss clear? if you used gloss paint or high gloss clear.. go get a can of flat clear and dull it up a it. that'll keep it more along the line of a military paint job.
now... remember, the purpose of a flat military paint job is to make it harder to see..

Thanks Mystic, no the clear coat is dry,I sprayed it with satin varnish, but It did look like I was trying to hide it .So six coats of clear was in order.
