Finally painted the plain white canopy :YeaBaby:
I know out of all the colors...
New cf boom supports :)
In search of some good cheap clear-cote if anyone has any pointers.
Have been too busy with the 200s time to get back to the 550 a bit.

Hacker A40-10L ET on 8sa123 (Electric Turbine  means cool fan and duct on top),
Some serious sanding down was necessary.
I cut a piece of fuel line lengthwise and wrapped it around the canopy to protect both it and the motor, it fits super snug.

Got her weighed...
5lbs 9.8oz or 2545 grams

She's a tad porky just not in the back end ;)
and just a little bit more pop now

Nope custom heli products frames.
I like the new head hunters and am considering a set though will keep these as they are perfect for AP,
with a nice spot for the camera in front and batteries slung under.

rmccomb, how is your servo response with the parkflyer receiver? I may have to use mine a bit until I get a new receiver? If my JR ends up being fried... (intstructions for the spektrum say 450 class heli's)

***looking at the picture again I'm not sure what model receiver you have...

Thanks mystic :)

The 6100 spektrum has worked very well
No issues. also using two more of them on the 200 twins.
2.4 is good stuff.

Disclaimer: (Not sure if you have an FCC in South Korea so you may do a good range test first)

The calcs say about 2150 headspeed
Will know here in a few days I am 99% done making the heli tach. FREE - RC Heli Optical Tachometer DIY - HeliFreak
Just gotta finish the pic programmer and program the chip for it.
All I want is a tad over 4 mins and a 2100-2200 headspeed.
Rather sure it will do it.

OR...
Go meet the guys at the dry lake bed for the first time.
Forget the G-darn camera at the house.
Get there
Watch the planks for 30 seconds (get bored)
Fire up the 550 (align 75 8sa123)
Have the damn lvc kick in after 20 sec of hovering.
Then after a second attempt starting esc with a 4s
hover about 25ft realize hmm no power lvc first step kicking in uh oh
then it cut, no prob throttle hold and my first unplanned auto, luckily had some speed on the head still and set it down better than a landing under power.
Whip out the 200 fly 4 batts through it.
First flight pulled off successful first stationary back flip.
batt 2,3,and 4 some front flips and FF.
Then a heli shows up.
:cheers
A trex600 (I didn't hold it against him)
excellent flying, some mild 3D.

Bad esc....BAD:arggg:
I have a new gaui 50 esc and I know it wont lvc with a 4s start.
Do I dare use it with this motor batt combo?

I bought a cheap fibreglass trex 500 canopy and attached it to gaui 550. Front of plastic frame is cut off and it uses a 6s a123 in a brick, like 6 on a die face. Does it look ok?

Ahhh Grasshopper (sorry - who else remembers Kung Fu),

Any chance of a picture showing the mods that you have made without the canopy on.

Thanks,
Mike.
