Yeah...I use an airbrush and acrylics (easier cleanup/thinning). I kinda did a rush job on the Hurricane because I wanted to fly it the next day, so there are a couple of spots where the masking tape was pulling up some of the silver because it wasn't 100% dry. Doh! (But you can't really see it from a distance, so what the heck...) And then I ran out of clearcoat...so it's not as "shiny" as the T-rex.

Thought I posted this before...I guess it got wiped out in the forum hiccup. Anyway...decided to try to try doing a flame job for my Huricane. It didn't come out looking as much like actual fire as I wanted, but it's still fairly interesting in an abstract kida way.
If I can't FLY like a hotshot, at least my hurricane can LOOK like one!

................and Raptor skids.
Hi VetteNoob!
These are the skids from which Raptor? I cant found any Raptor spareparts, which have the same height.
Thanks for your hint!

Cant take the credit for the idea. Got it from someone else. I bought the skid from AdvantageHobby.com. Part# TTRPV0035

I think it is the same one used on the 30 and 50.

Nice, but you've got to get rid of that "Align" logo on the boom :)

eh. not worth the time to mess with it. as long as it flies fine, Im good with it. besides, if Gaui had made one available, I wouldnt have had to buy an Align boom :)
Here's Mine,
Kept losing orientation with the white canopy(old eyes), so first attempt at at painting.
I figured the brighter the better.

Took a while but here is where I'm at.
In flight photo is maiden + 1.. maiden had no canopy and was a short hop to check amp draw etc. no photographer available so this is the next flight.
Side and rear views are pre- maiden. Also a view of the tai with QuickUK Raptor 30/50 blade grips.

Nice work man! What is you flight status? I chrashed last thursday pretty hard! Frame broken and Tail Case broken to. And 2 servo gears damaged. Building it right now. Waiting for the parts from ReadyHeli! Got My Canopy today and will be flying again at the weekend i hope!!
I tried a big cyrcle and at about 3/4 of it the heli came down nose first pretty hard and fast no time to react. Need a lot more practise ind nose in flying and hovering.
Good luck on your next flights!!!

mine was pretty hard to as well but amasing as it may seem, i only broke the main gear, spindelshaft, bendt main shaft, cf blades, + canopy smashed beyond recognition.
And that's it man. concidering the drop was from about 50 feet and at full trothle + nose dive just to make it a perfect crash LOL !!!
was flying again the day after (fixed the heli in the evening, the same day)
and after that crash it now looks like on the pictures.
by the way i can recomend the raptor skid's and tail fin... very stable set of skids for noob touchdowns :D
well Stallion, I really hope for you to get airborn really soon:)
Ps. crash investigators conclude that cause of accident was:
flat receiver battery...
installed the new voltspy v2 as precaution.
As I really mean everybody else to do the same( now learn from my mistake guys)!

Yea the Raptor skids look very ridgid. I orderd the Gaui Skids again this time but my be will convert to the raptor ones later. the rotor shaft was really bent this time and of curse the set of fresh 515 carbon blades were trashed as well. Dam it. I changed the servo gears my self i hope i did it right. I am not sure about the position transmitter. I pulled appart my sevo caseing and removed the wrecked gear put a new one in and put it back together. I will do a servo check bevor installation. lets see!
The worst thing that happend on my crash was that the lower battery took a beating and didn't survive.
I hope you have plenty of flights bevor the next crash. We all hope it will never come but gravity prevails!!

Really like the look of the blue anodized skids, where did you get them? For the TT Raptor 30/50?
Like the paint scheme on the canopy as well!

Yes it's the one for the Raptor 30/50.
I think it's from a brand named H.T.
bought this from a local dealer here in Norway But don't know where you will be able to get it though, sorry.
hope for you to find a set cause these are great.
And thanks for the compliment regarding the paintscheme by the way;)

This is the first brazilian Hurricane. The electronics will be assembled this week.
I'll use lipo's 'till I figure out the A123 specs for it.
The transmission will be done on 2.4GHz by XPS systems
Hope you all enjoy.
Kind regards.

But after 2 days rebuild. I wanted a few pictures before the next crash! I hope it will never come but who knows!
And i wanted to share of curse. Later that night i cut some cooling holes into the canopy, hoping it will solve my ESC heating problem. After 6-7 min's of hovering and FF the packs are cool at 40-50°C the Motor about the same temp. but the ESC is cocking at 70 - 80°C. One thing i should mention. I reduced the throttle curve to 85-80-75-80-85 to get more flight time out of the packs and a more stable behavior for a beginner like me. So i have a stable flight (no power climb outs of curs) and longer flight time.
I hope i get some in flight pics soon!!
