Can I run nimh batteries for a brushless motor or do I have to run lipos? If so can you guys tellme what types of batteries. I have the trex 450s with the 430l motor and rce-bl35x speed controller. I am new to this hobby and really wanted to use nimh until I get good enough to fly,but I do have my axe cp that I practice on.

The BL35g and x speed controls I believe will handle 6-12 Ni-Mh cells. So yes, according to the ESC instruction sheet that ESC. and motor combo should run on Ni-Mh cells.
Problem is you would need way to many cells to be able to fly the heli. It would be severly over weighted and have no duration in flight time. If it would fly at all.
Best to stick with flight power or Thunder power 3s lipo packs.
Just my thoughts though... :)
