14 mz night flying

Does anyone now how to turn the light behind the word Futaba off,for night flying ? I am putting tape over it now and it looks bad on a high end radio .

Yeah it will change to a nice orange glow when it is not transmitting.

Try that and see how it works.

I do the same.
I use a piece of black electrical tape and cover all but the last "a" and leave the tape on all the time. The one "a" is still enough to see what I need to see in daylight yet is not blinding me at night.
The black tape is not even noticed by anyone that does not own a 14MZ.
I also change the display to a more nightsafe red background with the brightness turned all of the way down.
