Are these batteries any good? I'm looking at the 5000mah 30C. also wondering if HobbyKing is a reputable dealer. Please don't tell me to buy the $150.00 to $300.00 name brand packs...... I know they are better, I just want to know if the Zippy packs are any good. Thanks.

Yes I have a ton of them. All different capacities. I also have Turnigys and Nano Techs. Best prices hands down.

Hobby King is a cheap provider. If you order something and it arrives broken such consider it a tax for getting things at much better prices than anyone else and move on. Customer Service is No Good. Good thing is I never had an issue with their batteries. Once I had a issue with a defective engine. They wanted me to ship it back to Hong Kong. Not happening. Just had to suck it up. For $20 who cares.

Remember to use the email address that you don't use often. Hobby King sells email addresses, I started receiving tons of junk emails after I purchased from them.

I use nothing but Zippy Flightmax in my 450 and 550 and they work great for me.

I've had about a dozen orders with HK and never had a problem with shipping or the product...knock on wood.

I bought 6 x 6s 5000mah 30C and have been using them for the last 4 months in both my 600Es and 550s. You can't beat them for price versus performance.

Yep, have 6 of these 30C 5000 Zippy's that I share between my 550E & 700E V2 & never had a prob after hundreds of flights. Not bad size/weight wise or price wise.

I also have 6 Turnigies, very good for the price and great performance, no real noticeable drop off in power. I have always had a good experience with HK although just had one cell go bad in a fairly new lipo which sucks, wont balance past 4.11, but this is a first for me with these lipo's. If I had paid £120 for it I would be well pissed. Don't remember accidentally draining it either but it's possible.

Got plenty of Zippys for my 450 and their great packs. Recently bought 1 5800mah 6s for my 550 to try out. Not flown it yet, just done some gentle breakin cycles on my charger, what impresses me is that its actually got a capacity of 6.5amps.

Although I do not notice a performance difference between the Zippys 40C 5Amps and Turnigys 40C 5Amps, the iCharger consistently reads that the Zippys have higher internal resistance. Again, I do not know the significance of this, as the Castle ESC logger reads Ripple Voltage less than 5% for each of this brands.

BTW, since you live in CA, consider purchasing from the USA HK store. The prices seem a little higher, but it is more economical overall when you account for shipping. Also, delivery is a lot faster from the USA Store.

I use Turnigy and Zippy - they are all 5000 mah and rated between 20C and 40C. I have over 20 of them and use them in my 800, 700, 600 and 550 helis. I once recieved a bad one but all the others have been great!

I've found the same thing, I bought a mix of 6S 5000mah Turnigy 20C/30C and Zippy 30C lipos (all from Hobbyking - which I've used a lot and found them fine to deal with, and prices are great), the Turnigy 20C just as low IR as the 30C, the Zippy 30C are much higher. I can't feel any difference in flight, but I use CC governor, and fly sport so am well under the limit of any of these lipos anyway. Maybe I just got a lucky 20C pack, but they are cheaper, so I'd buy more of the Turnigy 20C when I need to top these up.

From Cellpro 10S: All 6S 5000mah from Hobbyking
Pack1 Turnigy 20C - IR 1.7 1.7 1.7 1.7 1.5 1.8
Pack2 Turnigy 30C - IR 1.7 1.5 1.7 1.4 1.5 1.6
Pack3 Zippy 30C - IR 2.9 1.9 2.5 2.1 1.8 2.5

Pack5 Turnigy 25C - IR 1.9 1.6 1.8 1.6 1.6 1.8
Pack6 Zippy 30C IR 2.4 2.2 1.9 1.7 2.3 2.0

I just ordered a Zippy 5000mah 6S 30C (Buddy Code: http://www.hobbyking.com/buddy.asp?code=8B67C0EF-27FE-4B76-B8CE-1DEF8B164E8A)
and a Turnigy 5000mah 5S 20c
to go along with the Align 6S 5200mah 40C that came with my new 550E 3GX kit. It will be interesting to compare.

I just ordered 2 Zippy 40C 6s 5000's,figured I would give them a shot at 63.00 ea. Anyways got them yesterday and put them on my PL8 all cells 3.84 on both packs which kinda suprised me my Gens Ace packs had 1 cell in each pack that was a bit off at first.
After doing 4 cycles of 1C charge and 4C discharges everything looking good IR's averaging 2ish so now to see how they hold up my Gens Ace are at about 65 cycles and still going strong.
