I recently purchased a new shaft and main gear kit for my CP Pro. Part #MH-CP102S2. It has a clutch on it and does spin up, but won't grip the main shaft tight enough to provide lift off. I got some oil on the shaft during the initial assembly, but did get about a minute of hovering now it wouldn't lift off. I have cleaned it twice first with mineral spirits (still slipped) then with gasoline (slipped again). Even used some very fine emery paper on the shaft to take the shine off it. Any help would be appreciated.

i think you put it on upside down. is it the micro heli main shaft and auto gear ? ifso if you look at the bottem of the main gear you should see the ends of the 4 black screws holding it all togather. if you see the heads of the screws, try spining the blades the other way. if it grabs the shaft then take your main gear out and flip it over.

Txflyer, yep it's the micro main shaft and AG. Good point, however it is the right way up because of the lack of clearance between the gear and the main chassis, it's Btoast proof.:-) It does grab the main shaft, just not enough for lift-off. On a positive note I did get it to engage most of the time yesterday (no changes made), however it still occasional slips. Thanks for responding.

I have the same setup and I didn't use any oil! Not sure but is the oil make the one-way clutch slip? Try wiping it down and be careful when inserting the main shaft.
Mine works beautifully and is very smooth and efficient.
A note, buy some extra main shafts, they are stronger then stock but will bend if the bird is hitting the ground blade first.

ive got 7 crashes on the current micro heli main shaft. i had 12 on my last its only slightly bent. btw i dont think it is a clutch i think its a one way bearing.. it shoudl spin freely one way but not spin the other. also did you use the correct spacers on the main shaft..

Walle_308, Yep bought an extra shaft.

Txflyer, congrats on your Trex, should be a lot of fun. I also have MX450SX, finally solved my tail rotor and gyro issues setting on that beastie.

With regards to the clutch, I'll keep playing with it but it seems to be sticking pretty consistently now.

Thanks for your assistance.

i just replaced main gear and anti rotation bearing
it worked great the i hit idle up from stand still
tore the bearing up in one stupid move
my guestion is why do i even need anti rotation bearing its not like you could
realy do an auto with such a small heli any ways
why cant you drill a pin through the whole thing and maby glue the auto bearing all as one piece
hmmmmmm

its smoother, and the gear and shaft is alittle stronger then the stock ones. my heli use dto take 10 seconds to spool down after cutting power with the stock gear. the micro heli gear it now takes about 20 seconds to spin down if i let it..

damn yours must be a defect, ive hit the idle up switch w ith throttle hold on. then switched throttle hold off. scared the SH*T out of me. but no damage done.

next time i have my pro in the air im going to try an auto from about waist high. maybe lower, i plan to just go into idle up for the head speed. hit the throttle hold and go full positive pitch. just to see

Is the MicroHeli auto gear and shaft worth the extra coin and why? I'm not looking to do autos, just looking for a better main gear than stock.

its alittle stronger, but way way smoother then the stock gear. its worth it..

I personally use it cause I don't like having the main gear and main shaft as one peice. With the MH setup it is much easier to work on my heli.

order one or 2 extra main shafts so you have less down time whe you bend a shaft.

Iam glad t here so uch good about this system, I just ordered one I figured that it would not bent the main shaft as bad since the gear will just spin instead of transfering all the torque to the shaft.
