I have AA and AAA batteries that are NiMH.
I was wondering if my bccp would fly with a pack assembled out of these cells?

A 1.2v 850mAh AAA batt weigh's 12g and as I calculate
1.2*9=10.8v @ 108g
1.2*10=12v ~ the same as fully charged 3s LiPo @ 120grams

I know that this would be heavier than the eflite 800mAh LiPo but I think it should still be light enough for some decent FFF and I coud recharge fast.

Is this possible? Will it work? has anyone tried something similar?
Any input would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks, Noah

It would depend on the discharge rate of the batteries. Might work, might not.

I dont think the discharge rate is listed anywhere on the batt's.
I dont know but I would assume that since they can charge in 10min that they should be able to discharge just as fast.... Someone who knows best correct me or educate me here on this point.

Is there a way to test discharge rates?

Hello Noah,

GP (http://www.gpbatteries.com/pdf/GP85AAAHC_DS.pdf) has an 850 mAh AAA cell. According to the data sheet, it should be good for a 2550 mA draw.

15 minute charging is very hard on these cells. If you do that, don't expect more than 150 cycles, and the last 25 cycles will not give you good performance.
