Got the Bergen Turbine out on its maiden flights today. What a sweet machine. After having to wait a month to get a gear box fixed up, the wait was well worth it. That machine is rock solid in hover, has plenty of power and is so quiet. It's also nice to just hit the controls and let it start itself. I've only done some hovering and small circuits and it seems to have the same flight characteristics as the gasser. I'm also amazed at how flat the throttle curve is, only a couple of points either way.
Well I'm glad I joined the turbine crowd as it sure feels nice. As always, Bergen quality shines through

Well I had a King Air Trip up to Indi last week. So I looked up Lou (He Bought my Bergen Turbine) and was able to fly my old turbine with him and his gasser for a few days!!
What a deal!
Anyway lou has the hang of it, and always has a big smile on his face after he lands (even with his gasser!).
Thanks again for helping pass the time by.

Not only was it great on Wednesday, I flew all day today with three of my helicopters. Got four flights on the turbine, 4 on the Gasser and 3 on the beater 50.
By the way Don. Remember you had me practice the autos? Well it's a good thing. I had the radio in the throttle curve menu to work out a vibration in Idle1 and had the timer running. I flipped over to the timer and saw I had 3:41 left, so I kept flying away thinking I had all that time. Well about 2 minutes later I heard the turbine slow, and as you said in three seconds the engine flamed out. :arggg: Well I had to auto from about eight feet. While it wasn't the prettiest, it came down OK with just a slight bounce. Nothing hurt
Then I checked the timer again. It read 5:48 :bomb: It was running up past my ten minute limit. I didn't notice that it was counting up. So I learned that the timer does not go off if you are in any menu other then the home screen on a DX7. Another freature not ocumented :bomb:
I guess all's well that ends well. At least I know I get 15 minutes plus on full tanks
