Hi, just a question, I know OS #8 and Enya #3 are the most used ones but I been reading a bit and it seems like under some circumstances (hot weather and .60/.91 engines) the OS A5 glow plug might be a contender too.
Anyone tried it? Any experiences and or not to's about it?
Thanks,

We've used them - they do work ok
But I find the YS revs better with the Enya3

Simple guidelines:
Higher compression, use cooler plug
Higher nitro, use cooler plug
Larger engine, use cooler plug

Higher RPM, need to advance the timing, so need hotter plug
This may explain why the YS likes the Enya3

Curtis says use the hotest plug you can

The plank guys would simply try a few different plugs
without changing anything else
and then use the plug that gives the highest RPM

OS A5 rocks with 30% nitro!

I ordered a few just to give them a try.
Yes I'm running 30% on my .91 that's the reason I asked about them. I always hear/see a lot about OS#8 and Enya 3 but I never heard of the A5 before I just "discovered" them by accident looking at the OS web page.

Hmm I only heard about using it on a 50 though. I think it'll work on a 90 too.

Well according to OS the bigger the engine, the hotter the weather and the lower the RPM's (which happens with bigger cc's) the colder the plug should be.
I wont know until I rebuild it now. :arggg:
I'm starting to get seconds thoughts about this hobby :dontknow
