Hello all
I made a spreadsheet of all the settings found to work for everyone- so you can look at them all at once, you can also modify the file for your own settings to keep track of your own heli.
hope this helps-if any one see any errors please let me know and I will correct the file.

This is big help to see the differences in settings for helis and experience.
Since the transmitter settings have a big effect, can you post the ones you have used? KopterX has convinced me to change swash mix for more taming, and it would help to see settings that folks are happy with....AND their experience level.
I jut started hovering a 550 FBL (first exposure to FBL) and find that it is WAY TOO sensitive for me compared to my 450 & 500 FB birds.
Thanks Again,
Dan

I like the layout, but you can't directly copy and paste a column into a settings file. See attached for something a little more basic. If you made your spreadsheet driven by raw setting, such as those attached, on another tab, that would be really neat. Then we'd get both a neat display and the ability to import/export setting with a bit of copy and paste on a single column.

:wow2: And don't give me the first answer that comes to mind....
In your chart, you said that you decreased the throw by moving the link balls in by 2mm to improve resolutioon. What was the reason for this?
I understand the principal of doing this, but I am a little confused as to being able to tell the difference.
What kind of flying (or tricks) would you need to do to notice that this makes it better.
Thanks,
Dan

i moved the balls on the links to increase the numbers in the swash adjustment-hoping this would help reduce the "dead zone" in the middle of control-but after much trial and error setting the heli to begginer 450 and remove expo in the software and radio it has the best feel at center- i have even gone to -30 expo and that feels even more connected-but the control is very touchy but has eliminated the dead zone--i have not yet found how to reduced rate control at center with out having the dead zone, it seems like you cant get the accurate control we all like when hovering

this looks good- i just made the chart in the order you see in the software-the numbers would have to me manually put in then saved to the new profile

I had this issue at first too, i cant remember what i did, but im on 1.2 leonluke settings, control rate is 45 for a max roll of 200deg/sec 13/13 for pitch zero software expo on all and i run 20 expo on my dx8. I have also upgraded my servos, the ds410's were definitely sloppier than my new ones. Mks are my replacements, yeah they are a few bucka but holy smokes its tight and locked in

can you tell me if that is +20 or -20 on your expo? when i run negative expo the dead zone is much worse.
thank you

Pozitive expo... Negative will stretch the middle of the stick out but make the first bit of its movement more sensitive. Do u have any dual rate setup? Also check to make sure u do not have any expo in the software, u can see if the 3gx is reading any deadband by wachting the movement screen while hooked up

Swash numbers to low causes low resolution and a dead spot around center, Running exp in the gui and TX both will cause a dead spopt around center. 50 in the swash mix should be the min. Move the ball in on the horns to get the swash numbers and resolution up if there low

Thanks, nice to keep handy for reference.
Are all the original setup numbers from version 1.2 of the software?
Thanks
Thank you! Got confused on all this Leon's threads.

Bad, i did move the links in by 2 mm- i was just woundering is every one putting negative expo(less sensitive) or positive (more sensitive)? what I find with negative the dead band is very noticable

I believe everyones expo is different depending on the radio they are using. Positive could be more sensitive or less depending on the brand of TX. check out this post. http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=378535. I use +20(less sensitive) on a spectrum DX6i
