Rightly or wrongly I wanted a DX7 so I purchased one on eBay. It turns out the version was airplane. Now I've been reading Spektrum and various forums on the subject and it seems there shouldn't be a problem using the controller for helis.

That being said, I'm a newbie and this is probably not the brightest of moves since buttons are not labelled for heli. Not only that I cannot find anything in the programming menu which refers to IDLE1 or IDLE2. The closest I've found is Stunt1 and Stunt2.

Firstly can someone shed some light on the IDLE1/IDLE2 programming mystery.

Secondly what is a good beginner setup for the controller for a beginner. I have a TREX 450XL and a HDX 450 SE V3.

Any help would be appreciated. :dontknow

Hi Rob, Watch Jermos' DX7 setup video http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/generic&filename=dx7v3.wmv and it will get you headed in the right direction. Stunt and Idle-up are the same thing.

Page through this forum and you will find posts that contain sread sheets with set-up info.

You made a good buy and it will work just fine. You may want to replace the throttle tensioner with the non-ratchet version if you have the ratchet version. I have a post here how to do it http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=35164
