The BC6 aint got a fan, and man oh man is it hot charging my 6S 5000mah pack. I charge at just 3amps, thats nearly 0,5C, and still the BC6 is so hot it's uncomfortable to hold my hand on it.

Is this common for the BC6? I only used it for 3s 2150mah packs before, and there has been no heat problems when charging those.

The charger has a 50W maximum capacity. So, at 6S this would mean ~ 2.25Amps max. I think you are running right at or past the capacity of the charger. Check out the last page of the manual, it states that the charging amperage may be automatically reduced from the set point so the 50W's is not exceeded.

I am very interested though in how long it takes you to charge a depleted 5000mah pack, though!

I charge two 3S 2100 packs at 6S, 2 amps and it just gets warm.

Was not that bad, think I used around 90 mins for the TP5000Mah pack im using, flown for 5 mins. It was around 70% I think.

With the price of 6S packs, I use 0,5C just to be sure anyway, so for me it was not much of a change compared to my Hyperion 1210I. In my opinion, the BC6 is great. I love not having to worry about DC, balancers, 8 different cabels etc. Specially if you wanna bring the stuff to work to charge, you dont want your desk looking like your dismantling a bomb...
