Hello to all,,I have posted this in Trex 450 but hope to get more help here.
and yes I did do a search .
Here is what I would like to find out by others that are (( using the same radio )) Futaba T7chp helicopter radio..
When I read in the manual that comes with this radio..
I can't find any reason when using exp in helicopter mode ( Trex 450 with 401 gyro, ) to slow down servos or less sensitive at center, I have to use ((( + exp on settings ))) in the manual for airplanes it tell you to use ((( - exp on settings ))) and when in airplane mode on radio ,(( - exp will be less sensitive at center..)) I have tested it over and over again,and yes it works for airplane settings ,,
But not for helicopter mode??? What gives ? It will make servos less sensitive at center in helicopter mode , but only when using (( + exp )).
Anyone else having to use + exp for LESS SENSITIVE AT CENTER?
I have read my manual over and over again and can't find anything that says ,, use + exp in helicopter mode for less sensitive.:confused:
It does work using (( + expo ))!!
My radio has been like this from day one..
Now if I'm in airplane mode,,, it will work using (( - expo )).

I have even tested my helicopter mode , by using one of my airplanes WITHOUT changing model setting in radio,I can see it very easily moving less at center stick when using (( + expo )) compared too (( - expo ))!
I can see the rudder channel working much easer that way .
I do use switch (B) for expo on my radio.
I have e-mail Futaba about this and have not heard from them..
I don't know what to do?
Maybe I will just keep using what works? 'But I would like to know why MY radio is working like it does?

Thanks
Danny

Negative precentage is less sensitive ( travel ) just off each side of neutral.

Positive precentage is more sensitive ( travel) just off each side of neutral.

Futaba has always had the Expo function set up this way.
JR is opposite.

The easiest way to check it, is set it to negative 100% expo in each direction. Then you should not get full travel till your at full deflection of the stick. You sure you have the expo activated and turned on?

I think I found what was wrong.To me, the switch symbols look backwards on screen.. So I think when I was trying to turn on expo,, I was really turning it off?
I hate this screen symbols in here.. :arggg:
Oh,, do you know where one could see examples of what all these little symbols mean on this screen? There not in my manual . :dontknow
Thanks

http://manuals.hobbico.com/fut/7c-addendum.pdf

Did you read the above addendum that came with the radio?

What symbols are you referring?

The symbol that has the curved arrows around the circle is signifying the rotory dial. To turn it to increase or decrease the precentages.

The box with the arrow pointing up or down is for the cursor. This tells you to move and select another set up menu. That would be the two push buttons on the right next to the dial with the arrow pointing up and then one with it pointing down.

Page 18 of the manual is pretty clear on the symbols and the buttons and dial.

As for the menu screens in the transmitter. They seem clear of what each function is being changed in the transmitter.

INH= Inhibited or OFF
ACT= Activated or ON

Most of the mixes and functions are INH by default in the transmitter. They have to be activated when they are needed.
