I am looking to up grade to a better tx.Right now I have the cpp, soon I want to go to the trex 450.Will both tx work well with both heli?Money is a concern.I am interested in the DX6,because of cost, but I want to beable too use with both heli. Or is there other tx that will work well. Also what reciever would be the best to get?
Thanks

the dx6 can hold up to 10 different models. including planes.. if you plan to go bigger then a rex450 id save for the dx7 but if a 450 is the biggest your going to go get the dx6. i just went from a stock radio for the cp to the dx6 and it is a world of difference. the dx6 is a good radio. the only rx that works with the dx6 is the ar6000..honestly id just get the dx6.

As of now I have no plans on going any bigger the the 450.I take it that you have had good luck using it with the cpp

yes but the setup is alittle hard. i will help you with my settings..

if you noticed when you hover say under head height but above your waist. theheli kinda goes up and down ? i figured it was a problem with head speed. i went into the dx6 programming and increased the throttle from 30% at mid stick to 40% and the head speed was a good amount higher.. fixed the problem.. you can do alot fo fine tuning to the heli once you understand everything.. im currently setting up my cpp for the way i want it..

I am using the Stock reciever with my CPP, I plan on up grading to a larger helo when I can fly my CPP. I would like to go to a Trex 600 or the Twinn Rexx (later this summer when they will be available) what would be a good radio to get?

DX6 is a great entry-level radio and will indeed do the job for a 450 but you will end up much happier saving up the extra $70 getting a DX7. For the 450 you can save a bit by buying one without the stock Spektrum servos (which are no good for a 450) and with the AR6100 Rx instead of the AR7000. For example if you follow this link you will find a DX7+AR6100 is only $70 more than a DX6+AR6000, absolutely worth the difference: http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp?PageAction=MFGSEARCH&ManfID=125&Page=1

Definitely for a TRex600 get a DX7 + AR6200 or AR7000.

When you order you DX7 be sure to clearly specify the Heli version and your choice of Mode1 (uncommon in the US) or Mode2 (most common).

How much does a DX-7 cost and would I have to get new servos for my CPP

In/from the US you can get a DX7 + AR6100 Rx for about $270 (eg see the link in my post a few back up this thread). Any servos will work with any brand of Rx so no need to replace them just because you get a new Rx.

I just went through this debate with myself and finally decided on the dx7 over thr dx6 or fut 6ex. If the extra money can be saved for the 7ch you will appriciate it in the long run with larger heli's and the extra features are very nice.

kgfly has a good comparison chart here: http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?p=344627
