OK, Rusty knows this real good, but the rest of you don't know that I've been going through spindles like they're made out of rubber!

Well, I was at the Bakersfield Fun Fly with my latest new spindle, and it bent on the first flight! Made some new friends there who helped me to troubleshoot. Turns out that I have an unusually bad pair of TT CF blades! The blades would WOOF and go out of track so bad that they bent the spindle!

After I took the blades off I noticed something very interesting - if you shook one of the blades, it would rattle!

Anyway, I bought a new pair of Radix blades, which balanced perfectly on my balance, put them on this weekend with a new spindle, and she flew beautifully! Wooo Hoooooooooo! :D

What a pain in the but those TT blades have been. I think ACE owes me a few spindles and a couple weekends of flying time! :arggg:

Not all T/T blades are bad, but I have had aset in the past I had the same issue with. Glad your buring fuel again. How is Mandy doing with the Hurrican Rock? Did you guys get the hats?

Got the hats, thanks. Wore them at the field last weekend.

Mandy is doing good. Actually she is doing great. She is really having fun now. She got 3 flights in on Saturday. Usually she flies, then I disconnect the buddy box TX and I get a flight in , and then set up the second transmitter again to let her fly, etc. After disconnecting the student TX and refueling last Saturday, she wanted to go up again - RIGHT NOW! So I didn't get to fly inbetween her flights. I thought that was too cool.

Also, she does better when I act as the "red button of life" to save her, and our friend Tom talks her through the flight. She says she is more inclined to do what he tells her to do. What a surprise, eh?!

Anyway, the Hurrican's doing good, and Mandy's FFF and figure 8s are getting better and better.

Well I had to cut the main shaft apart. to get the swash off. But since I have never bent a main like that before I welded the sucker back together and sanded it down and all. Then hung the sucker on the wall!!!! along with the spindle. Man that thing was hard getting out. Had to pry the dampeners out CAREFULLY and the sucker barely came out.
I got the pipe straightened out and repolished so its good now
Now I just need the other 80% of the heli :arggg:
