I lost my foamie to a tree and it stayed up there for three weeks before a thunderstorm finally blew it free. The plane is a total loss, but I recovered the electronics. Obviously I couldn't uplug the battery from the ESC, so when I got the battery back, it had 0.0 volts. Is the battery toast, or is there some way to get it to charge again (this was only the second flight on this particular battery)

Hey,
I'm of the thinking it's probably dead and buried now that battery, but if your very, VERY careful you could try a trick.
A friend of mine had one of his Swift batterys drop to a very low level and because of this the charger would not start charging it. It was then suggested to charge the pack on a NiCad setting for a short period to bump up the voltage before then putting it on charge using the proper LiPo settings.
Whether this would work here or not I do not know and also how safe it would be to.
If you do decide to try this out then please do so outside and away from yourself, others and any buildings.
It may also be worth considering is the risk even worth it, just incase anyone should come to any harm all for the sake of just bining this pack & buying another.

the cellpro 4's charger has a low voltage restore setting, and it charges the pack at a very low current untill its up to voltage, then finishes the charge as normal. but the manual says it will only do that if the cell is above 0.5v, so maybe its not possible if its got 0v in it?
