I heard of Raptor and TREX 600 grips that failed as well.
Yep.... which is why I wont run plastic on those either! I saw a Trex600 explode due to a grip failure early on when it first came out. Align recalled the heli if you recall.
Now back when I flew nitros I did fly plastic. Why? Because usually you did not go about more than about 1800 to 1900 head speed. While there were still grip failures reported on Nitros they were not seen as much as some are seeing now.
With these electrics we are running much higher head speeds.
I personally never saw a grip failure on any nitros for several years. I have seen probably 10 in the recent year on electrics (mostly Trex450 plastic runing over 2600 HS).
Again, for the price I wont trust plastic grips pushing the head speeds and risk injury or a busted up heli.
