LOL, ok I am trying to get this thing back in the air ASAP. I have a buisy weekend and little time. So, I was thinking I would ask for help from the CPP community. ;-P
Ok here is the problem. I am trying to get my DX7 radio to work with my CPP (again) but seem to have a little problem. I am setting up the servos and have all the cyclic working properly but for some reason the swash is goin up when I increase throttle. I could just have a temorary laps in judgment but shouldnt the swash be going down as I increase throttle? Any help is more than welcome. Thanks guys

this might help you out
when i was trying to get a dx6 in ordered. your ccpm settings might not be right.
mine is
cp2-cp3-cp6
-80 +80 +35
man i wish i could remember correct.. write down all your settings as they are now, cuz one of the settings is either reversed wrong, or you need to mirror the setting to - or +.. i was able to get my swash to move up for positive pitch instead of down..

hmmm so are you saying moving the swash up should give me positive pitch?

no psitive pitch it should go down. negative pitch it should go up.. sorry that last message was scattered..
something isnt right of course, i thnk its the ccpm setting... i was changing stuff on my dx6 trying to get it figured out. i had several times reversed the direction of the swash to where it was doing what yours is. i think its the ccpm settings..

Yeah that is what I thought. Right now I have them set the same as I had before I stupidly decided to reset my radio and the cyclic is working cool, but the swash isn't. If I reverse the + with - in my CCPM the cyclic gets all jacked up and the swash works fine. LOL
If I didn't have so much on my plate right now and could clear my head this wouldnt be such an issue for me. I set it up once I don't see what my problem is. I am going to watch the Finless videos again and see if there is a little detail that I forgot.

ge the swash to work crrectly then reverse the cyclic servos i think that might fix ya up..

lol. here is a funny thing about this post I just made. In the Finless CCPM1 video he actually tells you how to fix this EXACT problem was one of his examples. LOL. Problem solved, thanks Finless. LOL
Tx, I went into the swash mix menu and (Daaaa) reversed the + to - on (what?) pitch. Imagine that. hahahahahha. I know you pretty much told me to do that exact thing. Sorry man I really scatterbrained at the moment. Lots of fam comming into town for my sons 1st birthday.

Yeah that would be nice, but far too conviniant. LOL. I Just put the freestyle belt mod on so I am trying to get my helis tail set up as well as get the radio set up right and man I think I have put too much on my plate for now. I find that if all isn't right with me heli I am always thinking about how to make it right. Once I get this thing working I am done with modifying it. Time to just fly and enjoy it in the air.

amen, i cannot stand having a heli not setup to fly. i think it about all the time too. i think im going to get the freestyle belt mod then thats it.. i tired of punching the throttle to have the tail kick out really hard..

Yeah so was I thats why I got it too. I just have to find some time to work on my heli with out all the distractions. Than take the set up one step at a time. The freestyle Belt mod with the 10t pinion has insane power....well at least compared to the old tail setup. It is definately going to take some getting used to. Now I just need to figure out why my gyro is working opposite. when I twist the heli left the gyro reacts by supplying even more left turn LOL.

reverse your rudder channel or it could be reversed on the gyro its self..

yeah that's what I did and it does change the direction the tail goes when I manually (using the radio) change directions but it doesn't change the direction the gyro moves the heli. Maybe I'll try the rev switch on the gyro.

that would prolly do it..

yep that did it! Yet another problem tackled. LOL. Now that everything works how it's supposed to it's time to adjust it all. LOL. I think I am gonna buy a CX tomorrow. I need something simple I can fly while my over complicated CPP is being worked on. Reminds me of paintball. I take a perfectly satisfactory marker and spend a bunch of money so that I can spend hours of tuneing and adjusting untill it is great again at wich point i go spend a bunch of money on upgrades only to do the same adjustment process over and over and over and over and.....well you know. LOL :arggg: :arggg:

micro mosquito from radio shack its about 80 bucks.. not as controllable as the cx but still able to easly fly around a room once you get the hang of it..

Yeah I'll have to look at that one too. Just got my heli in the air!!!!! my trims are just about maxed out in certain directions but hey! It was in the air. That tail is pretty cool. I need to center it and play around with the Gyro settings, than get the head all dial in so I can see how it reacts when I punch it. My guess is it will react well.

if your trims are maxed out then play with the linkages.. look up the settings on wich ones are almost maxed out. if youve added to it then cut in half and do a few turns the make that servos linkage longer,, i think i might have that backwards tho. this all stuff im doing for my rex as soon as my ar6000 gets in. fingers are crossed for saturday. i think if you hhave to have your trims almost maxed out, you need to start making the adjustment on the head. to get the trim lower.
i really hope my trex comes out as good as everyone elses. they it lifted off perfect only needed a few clicks here and there.

*Nice. Yeah I actually need to go back into the radio and fix the sub trims. I think I need to adjust actual linkages a bit too.

ive been told by a few guys that the lhs that fly 90's. if you have to make more then a few trim adjustments. you should just do them on the head.
Mortificate
06-09-2007, 12:31 AM
Yeah that is true and I would normally just go right to the head adjustments but the reason it's like this is because I was playing around with the sub trims. I think I will just go back and level out my swash and start over. I just wanted to get it in the air so bad that I just took it out side and figured if it was out of adjustment I would just use the trims to temporarily solve the problem.

wait you guys both have the freestyle belt mod?? me jealous!

I will. With that 10t pinion it should really punch too. LOL. I have a lot of work with the set up before I really stick it to the new tail but I can't wait. The kit is really nice and goes together well. I had to mod my SuperSkidz a little bit but nothing too drastic. Would be nice for rex owners too sense the tail uses a lot of the parts from a rex.
No need to be jealous Eddo, you can have one too. LOL. Just noticed you are in Ventura. Where do you fly?

nah man i dont have it yet, the last time i flew my pro i almost threw it into the ground. kinda seems ever since switching to the dx6 its kinda been getting hard to fly with.. guess why-------------- THE STUPID TAIL. it takes me liek 4 packs to get the heli trimed out. but as the pack wears the tail drifts worse. constantly trying to hold it perfect so you can get a feel for what the heli is doing and make trim adustments.
